Excited to listen to this tomorrow at work!

Sulphur Aeon - Gateway to the Antisphere

I listened to their first album on Spotify and I thought that was pretty good.

Shit Ozz you haven't heard that yet? It's fucking blistering. Probably my runner up for death metal AOTY behind Alkaloid.

I'm listening to Incorrigible Bigotry for the first time in like 5 years. Shit still sounds better than most death metal currently being released.

I love this style of primitive Black/Death Metal, reminiscent of the days when lines were much more blurred.

Just received their older promo tape in the mail.

Someone told me to check out Alkaloid since I like Obscura. Hannes Grossman is ridiculous.

My issue with the new Alkaloid is that it's so goddamn scattershot. Half the songs sound like they're by a totally different goddamn band. It's also just long as fuck. I love long techy/proggy death metal songs, and when they're doing it right, Alkaloid kills it. Some of that stuff is just too bloated for me. Also, the Dyson Sphere songs are goofy as shit.

edit: funny thing I noticed. Them and Allegaeon are humorously similar in some ways. Elements of the Infinite by Allegaeon has a song called "Dyson Sphere", they both begin with "Al" and the cover arts both look like they feature the same long haired dude.

All tracks on ...and Time Begins sounded the same. I tried to like it, but I failed. Hopefully I'll like it with time.

It's a weird place to start with Defrepit Birth. It's pretty much a slam death metal album before they really found their sound. I can see not liking it.
