Death Metal

idk, seems to me like the term including the words 'death metal' should be used to describe something that's, y'know, actually death metal? plus i think the word 'melodeath' was specifically designed for stuff like in flames, DT, SotS etc.

i'm fine with what TB said but it's still useful to differentiate stuff like early ATG from both OSDM and in flames imo.

true but i'd argue there's a specific strain of death metal that does this. i'm not one for quibbling over subgenres myself, i just think it sucks that some of the more melodic DM bands (particularly of the '90s) get grouped in with all the godawful melodic death out there and so none of the OSDM-heads bother listening to them. there are quite a few i don't think i would ever have heard if not for kiwi david for example.

haha, that's funny 'cause the eucharist debut has an even more annoying drum sound. i mean, i like it, but it's... unconventional to say the least. you should check that album (A VELVET CREATION) out though if you don't know it 'cause it's like nothing else. they were only like 16 when they made it and that shows to an extent but some of their melodies are out of this world.

wtf wilkinson why did you reregister. i've always liked ETERNAL DEATH.
