I wanted better quality releases. Replacing some of my del Imaginario discos presses with earache ones and grabbing some I never had before.

I already have a proper Altars press, so I got Blessed, Covenant, Domination, Formulas, Gateways, and Heretic. Price is pretty good, think it was ~$63 for the 6, grabbing two of the 3 album bundles.

That's a bit over 10 dollars per disc so yeah that's a killer deal.

Still a few of those I need to hear, a few I'm not a fan of. I do like Skelethal and Rude, besides the obvious big names there, and been meaning to check out Encoffinized. Elbow Deep I'm not a fan of at all. Good guys though, played the fest I helped run last year. I'm glad Jerry is with Gigan now, got to see them in Louisville back in September, really rad shit.

Also, seeing Accidental Suicide at the top of the page reminded me that they have a new one out as well.

So, death metal people, I just discovered today that Krisiun is not a Brazilian power metal band in the process of discovering Rebaelliun. On first impression, these guys along with Adorior (another band I never listened to until recently) all have a central thread in that they don't chug too much and go for more of a warm high-gain whirlwind approach to their brutality, combined with songwriting that is maybe a bit repetitive but tends to progress gradually over the course of a song. Often these acts seem to be described as "infernal" by online reviewers and whatnot. To me it's closer to the spirit of Darkness Descends than almost any thrash band was at that time and I'm really in the mood for this right now. So, who else sounds like this? Less blasting would be preferred but in this context I don't mind it too much. Danke.
