Dimmu Borgir is pretty good, personally I like some of their stuf on Puritanical..., but I have to say, Emperor does it for me when it comes to Norwegian metal.
PS:Keep throwing out more band names, I'd like to check 'em out.

And to Warrior of Modern Death: Here are some more band names for you. Limbonic Art, Gehenna, Fimbulwinter, 1349, Zyklon, Cadaver Inc, Blood Red Throne, Myrkskog and Enslaved. Norwegian metal, and they all rock!

I like the old Dimmu material, and really...i couldn't care less if it's black metal or not. It's the music that counts in my oppinion, not wich genré... as said many times on this board

i dont consider dimmu a true black metal band but i do consider them black metal but more symphonic. PEm is a great album heavy and blackish but i think it was too polished up. Emperor darkthrone,immortal,satyricon and taake are the best black metal bands from norway imo
