Religion is for the simple minded. Although I do know some very intelligent Christians, they lack the ability to direct their questions towards themselves.... Such as: "Well, if you believe in the big bang, what was before that?". Of course, if they had any way of rationale, they would have asked themselves the same question about god. But, we live in a dreadful, loathsome world.

I didn't bother to read the rest of the thread for the fact that I've been fed up with theologists lately. Oh well.

Hey, I voted "yes", but I'm not christian (if that what you meant). Nor Satanworshipper, heh. I have my own believes and have told them here before. Arguing about religions is mostly stupid, 'cause no one can PROVE anything. So I won't argue with any of you.;)

@ Northern Viking Thanks for pointing that out tome. I probably should have realized that. Even though I believe in God I thought I's put out this theory that a friend of mine came up with in philosophy today to prove the nonexistence of God. He asked "If God is omnipotent, can he make a rock so big he can't lift it?"

Actually, one of the leading theories is that the first proteins were created by a pool of 2 amino acids ran into each other and were affected by a bolt of lightning. Add a few billion years of evolution, and there we are.

So yeah, we quite possibly *are* a product of chance. So if god does exist, does he know that we do?

IMO That classic "big rock" sentence basically just points out that the concept of "almightiness" is paradoxal, therefore logically god can't be almighty (not that most religious people would actually care if something's logical or not... ).
