Ok then, point me to a stoner doom band that is up there with Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Pentagram, Reverend Bizarre, Saint Vitus, Pagan Altar etc. Oh right, there aren't any.

All I said is that I think that Electric Wizard sucks and most people who really like them tend to not know a whole lot about other types of Doom Metal. Also, I don't get where you're coming up with "EW fans don't know anything about true doom" since EW themselves are huge trad doom fans or so I'm led to believe. They pretty much sound like an even more dirge-y version of that stuff with overdriven, fuzzy guitars and obfuscated vocals.

I'm also having a tough time figuring out how they sound happy at all...and re: whether they are "up there with Candlemass, et al" I guess some people think that. Personally, those kinds of bands are classics, and I believe it unfair to compare newer bands to classics who began things because there's going to be an obvious bias towards originators, without whom most modern bands wouldn't exist. I like both newer and original stuff pretty much equally...I don't really understand why this is so uncommon in metal.

I'm not "ragging" on anyone's opinion, just expressing my own. And if you actually look at my post history, I'm pretty sure I almost always talk about bands that I like, and rarely about shit that I don't like.

on a different note, what does everyone think of Witchcraft? yea yea, I know - "hipster metal" but to me its good classic rock influenced doom that really rocks my world.

i just got their S/T album. its not bad, but i'm not totally sure i dig it. its so different from everything else im into. my dad may like it though. it kinda reminds me of jethro tull meets sabbath. both of whom i like

I know you were trying to put EW in a negative light, but obviously you wouldn't do the same to Sabbath...thus, I don't really think n00b bands is a good way to phrase it. But anyway this is stupid so I think in the future you should avoid being gay tbh
