I haven't even bothered with it. I kinda stopped bothering with EW at all accually, they've gotten boring. I'm starting to be so "true" lately. It is kinda depressing.

I just did that today, only with nightfall. Great fucking album. I thought doom was slower, but maybe I've been listening to the wrong bands

I haven't even bothered with it. I kinda stopped bothering with EW at all accually, they've gotten boring. I'm starting to be so "true" lately. It is kinda depressing.
Why is that depressing? True/traditional doom kicks the shit out of most other forms of heavy metal.You hit the nail on the head about Electric Wizard being boring now. Witchcult is just montonous and it all just blends into one song. Part of the problem is the new production style, it's really weak when you compare it to the sound that Come My Fanatics had. I also think that they're putting too much focus on their image with the whole 70s horror/occult thing, they need to concentrate on the music more. Although you can't complain about all the naked chicks in the artwork.

Album of the year for me, and I even like heavy productions, yet this production seemed to give the album more flow.

For me, the production gives it too much flow. Like I said, the songs blur into one after a while. I might change my mind after a few more listens, but so far it's been very underwhelming.
Lucky you got the jewel case version, the digipak is supposed to be a gatefold replica and is ridiculously thin. The plastic wrapping it came in bent the spine out of shape so the ends of the thing overlap each other.

(not most btw, ALL!). The thing is that I'm starting to think Dopethrone/Come My Fanatics/Let Us Prey sounds boring too. Too groovy or something.
