Doom Metal

The best Cathedral is FOE, Soul Sacrifice EP, Ethereal Mirror, Cosmic Requiem EP and Carnival Bizarre.

They only get really good again on VIIth Coming, and the newest one is fucking awesome. Not as good as the best stuff, but really close.

Esoteric is just fucking crushing. Another good"melodic doom band" is "Mourning Beloveth." And for all the MDB naysayers, you just can't ignore the relevance of "Turn Loose the Swans."an amzing album. Some of the best drumming ever by Rick Miah. A claustrophobic atmosphere, haunting with violin and piano. And those riffs, how could any metal listener not like this album. It makes no fuckin' sense to me , if you don't.

IMO Turn Loose the Swans is kinda overrated. Sure it is not a bad album but As the Flower Withers is the essential MDB album in my world.

Venom wrote "Black Metal".
Possessed wrote "Death Metal".

Has any band written a song called "Doom Metal"?

Not that I know of, but you forgot the most important one:

Witch hunting technical stoner death doom groove metal.

Oh, and am I the only one who finds Reverend Bizarre completely boring? I can listen to Electric Wizard, My Dying Bride...Sun O)))), but Reverend Bizarre just go on and on and on and on and on and on without anything to interest me.

I agree with you. I don't want to start a flame war or anything. But I find Reverend Bizarre boring. But do know I only seem play live once. But that concert sucked to hard so I never listened to their CD's

And lets stop calling any type of doom metal gay, there is only 1 gay metal band and that is Dragonforce.

I think Death Metal is an awsome album title. Mainly because I think it is the metal subgenre with the best name. It just feels and sounds so right when you say it. :p
The album rules too.
