Rare earth magnets hold it on. You can just push it off with your fingers. Slide it back under the strings and the magnets will snap it back into position. It's got some felt backing too so it will never rattle.

The finish and attention to detail is gorgeous. I will reserve final judgment of the body shape and large headstock until I see it being played.
Well yeah, I still agree on both counts Dan, but it's the perfection of the craft and beauty of the wood, hardware, and finish I'm mostly oggling at, rather than the shapes necessarily
But the contours on the carved top make it without a doubt the most gorgeous top I've ever seen
