Edwards is sort of a cheaper version of ESP, but only for the Japanese market and they are made in Japan (just like ESP). LTD's are also cheaper versions of ESP, but made in Korea or Indonesia.

The Edwards guitars are built in the same "halls" as the ESP's, you know, by the same guys. In Japan, there aren't ESP Standard Series, only Custom Shop. So, Edwards = ESP Standard for Japan. I can't explain that very well..
And yeah, most of the Edwards guitars are better than LTD's.
