Doesn't matter if they are made in China because China is the new Japan and every ESP factorys around the world are actually Japan ESP factorys so every fucking guitar is HANDMADE! WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FINALLY

UNDERSTAND

THIS!!!

DAMN!!!

China has pretty bad reputation for products. For example, you say that China is the new Japan, and even if the guitar is made in China, it's still the same thing. That's okay, but on the other hand you have those people who don't know shit about guitars. So when they see that guitar is made in China, they will probably think that it might not be the best decision in the world to buy one. Just my two cents ;)

Does it really matter if things are made in China...srsly?

If things were not made in China, can you imagine how much they would cost? An $8.00 China made shirt would cost double that if it were made in USA.

I remember something I read a while back..it said in China they named a city USA, that way they could put made in USA on the product even though it is really the city of USA in China. Pretty clever if you ask me.

Have you ever played two of the same or similar guitar models, and concluded that one of them felt superior in its build/construction? A current example for me is my LTD EX-400 and my LTD FX-400. Both have identical specs except the FX has a mostly-mahogany neck while the EX has a maple neck. No matter how I EQ the EX, it always sounds rather shallow and dry, comparatively. The FX's sustain and way the wood resonates is simply far superior, for whatever reason. I don't think all EX's are bad, I think I just happened to get unlucky with this one. They both have mahog bodies, 24.75 scale, stop tailpiece, set necks, etc, there's only one difference (neck wood) and that should be compensated for with some EQ-ing. My EX makes my FX seem like an ESP

LTD Alexi-600 and Edwards Alexi essentially have the same specs, yes, but the quality of Edwards production is more likely to be consistently good, whereas with LTD's you get some good ones, and you get some bad ones (especially with newer/more recent LTD's). You can get a bad Edwards too, but it's far far less likely. Let's just say I've played some shitty LTD's, but have never played an Edwards having not thought "this is a nice guitar"

Also, just because an LTD is made with Alder wood in the body, doesn't make it the same Alder that's in an Edwards or ESP. The mahogany in my EX is DEFINITELY not up to par with the mahog in my FX. It's not just about WHICH woods are in the guitar, but how good that wood is. Fortunately for us metal players, when playing with EMG pups and/or massive amounts of gain it's harder to notice if your wood is shitty (I still notice though, like in my example above), but if you switch to your clean channel you'll much more easily be able to tell the difference in resonance/sustain.

LTD's newer production is pretty shize. Newer LTD's generally have more expensive/desirable hardware/electronics, but the downside is that the tonewoods are generally inferior (not worth it). You can replace pickups but you can't replace the wood of your guitar. I prefer older LTD's, specifically ones made from around 2004-2007, because these guitars generally had nice pups used, but were still being made with quality tonewoods.

An informative little read about LTD/Edwards/ESP production was written by a friend of mine can be found here: http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/Offworld92/blog/91877/

Lol, I just found and read this thread again http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/...esp-ltd-rl-600-roope-latvala-guitar-sale.html Seems like this guy always knows more about guitars than we

Haha. Good times.

nice, so we conclude what i said: edwards is better than ltd :tickled:

We do shit! Dude, just give up. You know NOTHING about guitars! All what you've said was shit and has nothing to do with waht eveningninja said. And this is also a really speculative statement because 1. I don't think that he had played more than 3 different Edwards and LTD's and 2. you missed the fact that much more LTD's were produced than Edwards which means that you may have 10 bad LTD guitars out of 1000 and 1 bad Edwards out of 100.

No...what I think we all concluded was that no 2 guitars are made the same...even if it is from the same company. So it really depends on the guitar.

My 2008 Alexi LTD feels a lot different than say a 2011 Alexi LTD.....and I'm sure an 08 Edwards would feel different than a 2011 Edwards.

But like I always say...it's not about the gear you have and what is better...its about how well you can use that gear.

well i think what i said has something to do with what eveningninja said. if you go back ull see lots of things i said is on that link of his friend. let me remind you: i had both guitars unlike you all that are speaking about edwards (how nice of you telling me i dont know shit about guitars when ur the guy who is talking about edwards without even played on 1 ever), i sold one to buy the other because the quality difference were obvious, every guitarrist friend that i have played on both and the opinion were the same as mine. why are edwards 500e more expensive than ltds now? why is mine made in japan in same factory as esp? these things are facts, what you said is speculative.

do yourself a favor and you give up, if you were smart you would understand ur just trying to believe (you and this foruns majority assholes) in a fake statement just to not feel silly for having the alexi 600 instead of the edwards. i simply laugh of how ridiculous you guys are

I don't feel silly for owning any of my guitars....to feel silly would mean that I actually gave a shit what others thought... I can tell you now, I don't.

And I have a Jackson which owns all other guitars anyways so.........yea

In the famous word of Vin Diesel..."It's not how you stand by your car...it's how you race it." Fast & the Furious One....but it applies in this case to guitars

its not about what others thing. i said feeling silly because you could buy something better for the same price.

and im still to understand why the hell having a jackson makes you have the best guitar on the world

I never said that I have never played an Edwards you idiot.

It's senseless to come with logic or normal arguments because you still think that the more a guitar costs, the better it is, the newer it is, the better it is and you still think that Edwards are handmade. You even think that the HZ-H4 is better than the HZ - H2. Let me guess why? 4 is higher than 2. 90% of those guys here in this forum will tell you that the hz-h4 is the biggest shit. - this is why you know nothing about guitars.

1 year ago LTD was more expensive than Edwards - does it mean LTD was better back then? I don't know much about the new LTD's but I can definitely say that my 2007 LTD is better than the old Edwards because the quality and playability is top notch and I have an OFR whereas old Edwards just have a licensed.

And to confirm srobs statement: If you can't play then even the best guitar in the world would change anything

Out of all the guitars I have ever played (well over 100 by now) it has played better than any of them....and because I got a $1000.00 guitar for $98.00 with the case included, new. So to me it owns all others in playability and price. I know I will never get another guitar for under $100.00 that comes even close to performing like my Jackson.

And I have played many, many high end and low end guitars.....Ibanez Prestige's, Gibsons, ESP, LTD, Epiphone, Fenders American made, Guild, Charvel, Schecter, Washburn, etc....most brands that have been out since the early 90's. The only one that has ever come close was an Ibanez JEM, that guitar was awesome, epecially for a bolt on.

Then again, these are my opinions based off the many guitars I have had the chance to sit down with.

And IMO I bought something(my Jackson) better for a better price(Edwards or LTD)
