EPIC QUESTIONNAIRE THREAD

Your favourite punk album of all time is really an album of songs by punk bands being covered by a rather burnt out thrash metal band?

Fair enough, but I just think it's really random.

Ouch.

Yeah.. Idk. I don't listen to a lot of punk albums. Mostly singles. I find punk gets repetitive if I listen to it for a full half an hour.

Depends on the band, punk doesn't have to be super samey like hardcore or punk rock a la Ramones etc.

Try something experimental maybe?

Emo was originally (and still is to my mind) short for emotional hardcore, so yeah it was obviously always a subgenre of punk music.

Edit: that Teen Suicide link sounds more like hipstery lo-fi noise pop or something. Maybe they have some emo influences but it doesn't show much.

Ah, alright. That emo.

The emo I think of when I hear the term "emo" is the ultra-degenerate "it's not a phase mom!" kinda emo. You know, those kids who dress in a modified scene fashion, self-harm in obvious places, and then give themselves a label because of aforementioned life choices and because it's in right now.

I don't actually have to explain further. You can just see for yourself. http://www.scenekids.com/

Yeah, that crap hasn't been on my radar for years, so I tend to automatically think of it's true meaning. Same with screamo and metalcore.

I pretty much didn't get into anything while it was happening. I was born in '88.
I'm not even old enough to get a drivers license. I COMPLETELY MISSED EVERYTHING.

Oh well. There are still bands like Code Orange, Unit 731, Nails, etc. and I just have to hope they come to Canada before they disappear or before they change. I was really hoping to see Code Orange this year but they're touring with Deftones who also aren't coming to Canada this tour...

Conservative Libertarian, no party.

That's cool to know.

Since it's you I assume you're talking about the original, but I gotta make sure.

Dr. Strangelove.

I still need to see/buy this. Good reminder.

That's so random and hilarious, what are some of your favourites? He was a killer Buddy Holly.

One of my absolute favourites too! Is the Black Adder film any good?

Marilyn Manson's Portrait of An American Family.

That's... Not... What?

Buffalo's Volcanic Rock

Yes, the original Charles Bronson The Mechanic. Buy Dr. Strangelove whenever you can, it's a dark comedy masterpiece. Buddy Holly was the only real good role he ever played, and he was amazing. Other than that? I just enjoy how derpy and psychotic he is overall. Good show, the Black Adder film was good too. Eh, I guess you can't officially classify it as sludge, but it has some sludge metal elements to it.

Busey is hilarious in everything he's in. Under Siege, Black Sheep, Bulletproof, Predator 2, Lethal Weapon...

Such a madman.
That's essentially his appeal, and I frigging adore it, kinda how people (like us) never watch Schwarzenegger for acting chops, just kickass fight and battle scenes and cheesy, searing one-liners.
