Deathcrush is more or less bestial thrash metal, is what I'd say.

It bordered on the first and second wave with Sarcofago's I.N.R.I. and Sepultura's Morbid Visions. "Black Metal wave 1.5"

Yeah I feel it lurks in that 1980's grey area of thrash metal, black metal and death metal meeting up.
