There's so many great solos out there, its hard to choose just one, but the one that sticks out the most in my mind is Guns n Roses' "November Rain."

Opeth - Peter's solo from "A Fair Judgement"

Judas Priest - Glenn's solo from "Painkiller"

Behemoth - Nergal's solo from "Conquer All"

Morbid Angel - Trey's leads in "Angel of Disease"

Iced Earth - Larry's solo from "Melancholy(Holy Martyr)"; this is the first solo I learned to play

Nevermore - Jeff's solo from "The Final Product"

There are many more, but these are the first 6 that come to mind.

Damn ! There are 1000 solos i like...i can`t pick one.

Metallica - Jump in the fire (Second solo)
Pantera - The sleep

Two solos i really like.

Most of the solos on Scar Symmetrys album "Symmetric in Design" are good.

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

Sure, this is a cliché answer, but that solo rocks so hard.

Jimmy Page is a god.

I like that solo too, but it isn't that hard to play :dopey:

Jeff Loomis' solo in Final Product

Yes, I agree. Loomis is one hell of a guitarist and knows how to solo.

I cant name my favorite guitar solo. This is way too hard to answer.

Jeff far surpases players like Michael Angelo Batio and Yngwie, in my opinion. Because not only is he a supreme shredder, but unlike them he's a very great songwriter.

Simple is beautiful. Most of the good guitarist's aren't technical guru's. Jimmy Page, Albert Järvinen, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Angus Young, Slash, etc... They aren't the most technical players, but they sure kick the asses of Yngwie Malmsteen & Co. :)

Reine Fiske - Sjuta Folta Efter (Dungen)
Reine Fiske - 1st of May (landberk
Reine Fiske - quiet drops (morte macabre)
Bengt Dahlen - grismakt (flasket brinner)
alex lifeson - subidivions (rush)
andy latimer - lady fantasy (camel)
tony iommi - neon knights (black sabbath)
michael schenker - lights out LIVE (U.F.O.)
steve howe - yours is no disgrace (Yes)

many more too that i cant think of off the top of my head.
