Im so proud that my fellow country men have weilded the axe of metal so well. Our damn small country has produced many great bands that shape the history of the metal scene, some of my top bands would be:

Amorphis (the day I heard Elegy changed my life)
Finntroll (so great, so trollish)
Children of Bodom (their latest sucked but its awesome to see a band from my hometown on the cover of Guitar World mag, or a member of the band)
Thy Serpent (Damn them for not being around anymore)
Sentenced (great drinking metal)
Ensiferum (pagan prosperity)
Swallow the Sun (the new big promise from Finnnnnnland)
Moonsorrow (more pagan madness)

Then theres plenty of bands from the Spinefarm camp worth listening to.

Plus a few bands who appeal mostly to Finnish speaking fans since their lyrics are in Finnish:
Kotiteollisuus (great choruses to sing along with)
Timo Rautiainen (people should check this band out cause Tuomas from Nightwish is in this band and so is the ex guitarist of Children of Bodom. They have a sing called "Hiljaisen Talven Lapsi" which is just a powerfull super metal track that really grabs you)
Then last but not least Viikate: tanssilava heviä!

Rock on cold NORTH!!!!

- Throes of Dawn (but just Dreams of the Black Earth and Binding of the Spirit; the new one was boring goth rock and the first one was fairly unmemorable)
- Insomnium
- Slumber (Fallout was one of my favorites of 05/06)
- And Oceans
- the first Thyrane was really cool, too; too bad they became a bad Dimmu (and then Kovenant) clone after that
