Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus is my fav. Finnish record. but I don't really listen to much else from that country anymore...except Swallow the Sun and...and...well who isn't a Bodom ripoff/parody/clone band in that country.

My favourite Finnish band, that I can think of, is Swallow The Sun. I THINK I'm forgetting someone, but if I am they definately haven't been mentioned, so I could just be imagining that. I don't actually mind Children Of Bodom, sad as that may be. Not amazing, but not THAT bad.

And I can actually see exactly what NFU is getting at about Bloodbath, but I happen to really enjoy them

Well, I'm not overly familiar with Candlemass, but the songs I have heard didn't appeal to me at all.

Swallow The Sun, on the other hand, create rather enjoyable (if wholly unoriginal) dense, melodic doom. I can't really fault them, except in criticising their lack of original vision. They have a tried and tested formula that they stick to because they execute it well. Why, does NFU have a problem with that?

Yes, the above mentioned bands are truly...... like.....
I saw Mokoma this evening at Tuska festival... fuckin' amazing. Probably the craziest gig i've been to in a while.
I also saw Wintersun today.... also great (!!!)
Tomorrow I'll see Stamina, that cannot be anything but great (!!!).
(Oh, also Opeth plays there tomorrow .)
