Favorite Last Fair Deal track?

I thought We must bury you was awesome, up until the stupid bit in the chorus, with the high repeat of "we must bury you!" in the background. It was really REALLY obvious that the vocal was pro-toolsed within an inch of its credibility. It makes it sound like a mini-Jonas on backing vox! apart from that mishap its a really interesting, gritty atmosphere.

Hardcore wicked underground. baby.

OFF.
only thing i feel strange about We must bury you that I learnt at english lessons that it should be pronounced "bEry"
Pronunciation: 'ber-E also 'b&r-e
is it a matter of location or what?

good old english eh?

We must berry yoo, sow no won elss can fined yoo.

lol

but, whats worse (werss) about inglish is that when saying words like tough cough, through and dough there's no indication of how to pronounce them. Its hard enough for people that speak english as their first language, let alone anybody else trying to learn it.

Like EvilVince said: Help me disappear. But i think this song was recorded in the "tonight's Decision" sessions.
And March 4, tonight's music and I transpire are quite good too.

I'd have to say the future of speech and tonights music, although the entire album is fantastic and katatonia make it so f'in hard to choose favourites! But I have to disagree with you, for Viva Emptiness is a work of art not to be dismissed...
Just when you thought Katatonia couldnt get any better...

...just when you thought they couldnt get any better... they screwed up.
The new album just doesnt feel like katatonia. I know i'm opening up a whole can of worms by saying this, but i feel that i can at least referrence the old stuff to the material up to lfdgd. there is a fairly clear line of developement. The nu-sound is not as powerful, its more "metal", but of the ersatz variety. If you check this you'll see its true; the screamed backing vocals chorus in "ghost of the sun" sounds like KITTIE, and a whole host of other worthless metal bands, i could draw comparisons riffs-wise with drowning pool, soil and disturbed. Not the kind of metal that should be associated with something as cool as katatonia.

Will you excuse personal advice, but now I'm 100% sure you should see ear specialist. You're seriously ill.

plse re-read what i said, i said it sounds like kittie, drowning pool, soil etc. I mean this as an overview, not that Jonas sounds like the woman out of kittie, because of course he doesnt. The theme is the same though.

Ok, I have read enough posts that continuously refer to anything that isnt what they like as "nu-metal". Last I checked, Katatonia has not had a single rap verse on their album. Nor have they even remotely associated themselves with all of these nu-metal bands. Any time a band puts out a new album that is different from the last one, it is instantly tagged as being too "nu-metal". Holy shit, they had screaming in the background on one song!!! Wait, they must be Nu-Metal. Because any band with background screams is Nu-metal. Let us not forget they used to scream in the very old days. Does this mean that if they scream in a death metal tone then its ok but if they scream in a clearer tone that they are nu-metal? Im just saying that it doesnt matter what you call a band, if they are good they are good. Drop the useless labels, kick back, relax, and enjoy the damn music already! Having said that, I think that Viva Emptiness is quite possibly the best album Katatonia have ever put out. It still conveys the dark atmosphere that Katatonia have become known for and yet it packs a slightly harder punch than some of their more recent work. Though I still say Sulpher is the best LFDGD track and definately one of their best songs ever.

I believe the whole idea of Katatonia is to evolve...If you notice throughout each album they have changed and improved, and as for there style...they don't stick to any particular style they are just Katatonia and I f'in love everything they've done! They just keep getting better and better. Viva Emptiness is one of their finest workings so far.
