Dude, go ahead and rag on me... I seriously don't mind.... It does not hurt me, it does not offend me, nor it makes me scared to be honest...

I read the whole thing... I know that you just gave your opinion, and so did he... but apparently you missed what he was trying to say (At least that's what I got from it)... I know what "IMO" means, just in case you are wondering...

And by the way, I'm telling you to chill down because any types of arguments in the forum will really not get us anywhere, and I can tell you that by personal experience...The "asshole" comment it was just basically because the way you said that "I don't give two shits about your point" makes you automatically sound like one at least IMO... It seems that you simply don't wanna hear what the other person has to say... IMO =)
I'm not going to listen when digs and obnoxious rhetoric is thrown at me. And I agree. BACK TO THE FUCKING SUBJECT!

Whatever man... whatever...

But back to the subject... Who do you guys think would be good choices for this second stage in the festivaL?

I know that Kamelot's and Angra's management were in talks for a possible US tour.. I don't know if they went further in that... It'd rule to see them in either that or Gigantour though...

Yea, but then the set times would be shortened. Dream Theater's normal set time is around 3 hours and in Gigantour probably only 1 1/2 hours. For a Second Stage band, it'd be shortened to like 30 minutes... Then that would suck.

If this is going to be Dream Theater's only tour for "Octavarium," I will personally be devastated. Though I commend Dave Mustaine for putting together a diverse lineup, I'm not too crazy about who's playing. I really only like Dream Theater, and I just know they're only going to play for about an hour on a bill like this. An hour is like a warm-up for them! I just hope that there will be at least one band on the second stage that I like. Seeing as how the Drovers will be there already, why doesn't Eidolon get added to the bill?

Stay metal. Never rust.
Met-Al

Since it is co-headlining, I'm sure they'll get 1 1/2 hours. Also, I can say with about 95% certainty that DT will be back in the Winter months here for an Evening With tour.

Maybe they could have Symphony X headline the second stage! That would kick ass and they are supposed to come out with a new cd this year. I dont really know who else.
It would be cool if they had 3 inches of blood or biomechanical. Biomechanical is fucking awesome if you havent heard them check em out. There is already a thread about on in the forum.
Children of Bodom would be pretty rockin' I have already seen them twice though.
Crowbar would throw in some more diversity.
Life of Agony would kick ass, one of my favorite bands by the way, but I think they are doing euro festivals, but wait so Megadeth, maybe it will be alate summer tour.

I like how I said I dont know who else at the beginning but then thought of 5 more bands.

just like Iron Maiden (who i love and is my fav band. they arent relevent anymore either)

:err: hmm not relevent but selling out tour date after tour date.....

relevant- concerning the case in question; pertinent; applicable

I am happy to see this tour. It is shaping up to be quite a great summer! This show, Maiden @ Ozzfest, Symphorce @ ProgPower. For $35 bucks and then some I certainly will not complain about those on the bill I don't care for....seeing as a show at the HOB ususally runs $40. Thanking Dave for some good touring choices! SMYTH RULEZ!

This is a really cool tour. I love Nevermore, Dream Theater, and Megadeth. I saw Fear Factory last year with Children of Bodom and Lamb of God. I wasn't crazy about them but I was not bored during their set and enjoyed checking them out. I have never heard Dillinger Escape Plan and based on their description I probably won't care for them but I am still gonna check out this tour.

I am excited to hear what is lined up for the second stage. Children of Bodom can be a major possibility since I know Dave is a pretty big fan of them and he hung out with Alexi at NAMM in California earlier this year. I hope it is as diverse as the main stage. Overkill would be cool but they seem more suit for the main stage. If it is a rotating thing then it may work, who knows.

CoB would be cool on the second stage, and any exposure for them is good exposure, but it's really just about time they headlined over here. It's been painfully obvious at the shows I've seen them on that their fans were as passionate -- and almost as numerous, if not as numerous -- as those for the headliners.

Eh, I feel like whatever CoB is going to do next is going to be a big load of shit. The fact that they went on tour with Fear Factory and Lamb of God, wrote a song like Knuckleduster, and have been gaining a steady crowd of metalcore mallgoths has got my expectations lowered for their next album.

CoB can go either way. On the one hand, a band can't help who decides that they like their music - or at least pretend to because someone told them it was trendy. Yeah, the "Hot Topic crowd," who are as much goths as they are progressive metal fans, have latched onto CoB. The question is whether CoB will pander to that crowd in full on their next album. I'd like to say they wouldn't...then I remember a couple of bands who will remain nameless.

I hold out hope that CoB will do the right thing.
