I don't mean with flutes playing in every intro... (can be OK sometimes but comes off quite cheezy to me most of the time) -- I just mean those melodies that give off that Northern/Eastern European vibe.

Few examples of what I mean:

Drudkh
Belenos
Graveland

Thanks.

And as an aside... anyone know where I can get a copy of Thousand Swords at a decent price? I can't find it for less than $50 in the US.

Kampfar's 'Mellom skogkledde aaser', 'Fra underverdenen' and 'Kvass'

Hades' ...Again Shall Be' and 'The Dawn of the Dying Sun'

Helheim's 'Jormundgand' and their more recent 'Heiðindómr ok mótgangr'.

These are my personal favorites by these bands, but all of their releases are excellent.

Some of this might be a touch "flutier" than you may be looking for but give them a slot. It's not Turisas or Korpliklaani goofy, all pretty serious. The individual songs are great, but each respective album is also amazing.
