Guitar Player's Thread

:kickass: Btw, when may we expect your songs man? Do I remember right if I remember an early July release or something? I've listened to Run or Fuck or however is it actually called like a thousand times, and I even have on my mp3 player the samples you post, I want moar!:lol:

@Arvoitus: Damn that sounds fucking awesome indeed!

does anyone have the keyfile or a crack for Smaart 6? i tried a patch, but didn't worked

Well thats what you'd expect for
$1,499.95

:|

It does sound amazing though.:headbang:
Dude, how much does a decent regular setup cost:
Amp: 2000$
Cabinet: 700$
FX: 500$
Cables and shit: 200$

And do you want to record??? Add a couple 1000$ for mic's and stuff.
Get the idea?

With the axe-fx you just put one XLR cable from the Axe-fx to the mixer and your DONE.
It's also possible to do:
Output (L+R): Cab simulation -> to mixingboard
Output2 (L+R): Withouth simulation -> to poweramp and cabinet.

Meh, still haven't heard any non djent awesome metal shit in the mix.

Our homemade internal drum triggers work so damn well with a DM5.
Some "metal shit in the mix" for you with the Axe-fx:

http://www.tddstudios.com/dave_deathmetal_project.mp3

Both are direct recorded.

Here is a shitty Dual Rectifier model, i dont like rectifiers (to muddy). But you get the idea (direct recorded without post-processing):

And in this topic they have 5 samples of the Axe-fx compared to a tube amp (Guess the real amp):

Black Star is an amazing piece. and what's wrong with liking Yngwie? lately I've been seeing people say shit like "stop sucking yngwie cock..blah blah".
the guy is amazing (I agree about the vibrato), and he actually has some great songs.

That's exactly my point, he is a great guitarist and people hate him for it, and any time I name Yngwie as an influence someone usually starts flaming about how dumb and tastely Yngwie is.

People are stupid and make me want to punch Nun's -.-

Does anyone have ever heard of the axe-fx?:

It is the best amp modeler. No doubt.

Check the high-gain simulations of this thing in the first minute (And certainly listen to part 4:30 till 6:00):

Call me a negative nelly, but I don't find it all that great. If I were to hear these two clips without telling what they are, I would have known it was a processed amp modeler. Actually, it sounds like a line6 plugged into an amp's input  Can't beat a tube amp.

Those cleans sound fantastic with the effects though.

Brendon Small uses the PodXT for the TV show versions of the songs. The re-recorded album versions are Krank

AXE FX seems okay to me but I cant say until I try it myself

And the whole thing necromancer brought up about not hearing alot of stuff that sounds good thats not Djent-y makes sense to me because I think that the whole digital sound is part of the whole Djenty sound thing.

I mean that term sort of originates from meshuggah-ish type tone, and they used to use Line6 Vetta heads...now using AxeFX

I can also get awesome digital recording tone from a few free LEGAL plug-ins that some random dude designed and released for free haha
But If you are talking like a physical piece of hardware, I agree the Axe FX is probably the most advanced in amp modeling as you can get, but I'd rather have a real amp.

Devins Ziltoid The Omniscient is made purely from a line 6 pod and DFH for drums, lul

And doesnt Meshuggah use vetta heads?

Personally i'm a gear whore, and i will be using tube amps(except for cleans, Roland JC120<3333333333)
etc when i get around to having enough money lol

I though I should post the Fuel for hatred tab I made...There were some tabs pretty accurate in ultimate-guitar.com but I also watched some instructional videos from Satyr and I think that I improved a lot this version...If you don't mind check it out... :)

Where did you watch instructional videos from Satyr? I'd like to see them too!

the guy is amazing (I agree about the vibrato), and he actually has some great songs.

Because he's senseless wank. He may be great at playing classical songs that he didn't write, really fast, but his compositions are terribly unoriginal. He was one of the first neo-classical shredders though (I think), thus the phrase "stop sucking yngwie cock". The guy gets a lot of praise just because hes good at running arpeggio drills. Being a world class uni-cycling juggler is an awesome talent, one that takes years of dedicated practice, but that doesn't make you a thespian.

There's only a handful of pieces of his that I really like, and out of the 20+ albums he has I wouldnt really call that an accomplishment. Most of his playing is really boring senseless wanking.

are you implying he didn't compose Black Star? If so, would you please be so kind as to tell me who did?
And let's be honest, most of the musicians out there are influenced by other composers. This basically means that most have taken a piece, melody, whatever they are fond of that time, and they somehow "make it their own". (And we all know Alexi is definitely in this group). This includes maybe re-arranging a classical piece, which could make it sound very different given that it's being played on a different instrument, with added effects and what not. I do see your point, but still, I think his popularity is warranted. Even if it is just a result of hours on end of dedicated practice. It is that which has got him to where he is.
