Guitar Player's Thread

not me. I have playd aroun 3 and ½ years. Which you can take off 6-12 months of "serious" practicing time because of fanboism and several other fuckups.

Which makes me think, I haven't really "practiced" guitar for a long time. I just sit and jam and write own songs basically.

Im not seeing the problem with Wildchild2. He likes COB, big whoop so does everyone here. You know why Alexi has long hair? not cus he is a "fanboi" cus like a lot of other metal guitarists, they see metal and see headbanging and think "fuck I can't believe im missing out on this" and grow their hair. So you are pretty much calling Alexi a fanboi. BFMV did it, Metallica did it and so did every fucking heavy metal band. Besides, Alexi is like the coolest guy ever, why wouldn't you want to look up to him. I WISH I had an Alexi V, but I need more than 1 pickup and want a fixed bridge. Congratz to Wildchild2 if he has 1, he is 1 step in front of me by owning the coolest fucking shape ever. Brutal Hate, don't bag his name when you have such a fucking stupid "Extreme Hardcore" name. Is there such thing as soft hate now? but oh look out this guys hate is BRUTAL! Sounds like you are a hardcore fanboi who wants to be one of those guys who fucking use blood capsules in their performances

This post doesn't change anything. 8 out of 10 times the guitarist gets over the fanboyism when they start finding their musical identity and actually start writing songs. This is exactly what happened to me, I had a cheap Finland limited LTD 500€ Alexi signature. I ended up seeing it was the biggest mistake I ever bought :lol: Thank god, It's sold many years ago.

Now, do I listen to COB? No, not really. Do I play their songs? Nope. Do I still need a RR shape? No, goddammit! Never beer happier. I got 2 superstrats. One being Ibanez RG shape and other a 7 string Schecter. Just telling you, Everything is not so transparent and straightforward. Much like a persons mind the musical identity does often "mature" over time and reach a "area" they will stick for. Fanboys often are in the middlephase, finding something awesome and thinking theres nothing like it.

Yea your probably right. Can I just add that Children of Bodom are the first band that Ive ever listened to that have screaming and im sorta used to listening to his voice, its as if his is the only screaming voice that im used to lol, not others that are too deep like, uhh, necrophagist for example. but now im alright, i listen to other bands like all that remains, sepultura, etc :)
 
^^all respect for his dedication....he's very talented and all, but who the fuck bothers to get that good at ACCORDION? There are lots of cooler instruments out there :lol: But yes, this guy pwns me.
