Guitar Player's Thread

You say it like John 5 was something. DiMarzio has Paul Gilbert and John Petrucci, that'd have been a much better answer as someone else said :)

+1
I'd gladly take the Edge III over any Jackson tremolo.
Don't say anything until you've actually tried them yourself.

Not any. The one RR24s come with is actually sweet. But then again is not exactly Jackson, is made by FR company but in Korea for cheaper costs. Specs are the same as OFR though.

I wouldn't say its great.
But its not as bad as everyone says it is.
The only reason people think its shitty is because people keep talking shit about it when they haven't even tried it.

This. Ofc it's not a great tremolo, because there's no guitar that gives you great things for 400€, but it's a really decent tremolo for the price.

Meh, No I don't solo but I use all the strings alot. Take chords and shit ( that are not powerchords obviously, since I am the only guitarist I try to make the guitarlines a little more unorthodox and interesting). I've tried the RG7321 at the local store and It was honestly pretty good. Don't know if it's better than the MTM2 though...Didn't think of it. Schecter was ofcourse miles from it. Just saying, I don't use only the 2 first strings you know  So yes, It could be a problem. Especially looking at which direction our music is going currently. I can always transpose and that shit but...

Just started wondering on this when I started composing new songs for the band.

I didn't say you only use the lower 2, but I figured you'd be ok with 6, because you know, you can play chords in A too. But whatever suits you best shall be. I just think the MTM2 suits you pretty good, plus the fixed-FR weird thingie must be good to keep tuning stable even when going hard on the strings.

Because a mate of mine just had to light a cigarette in the venue as they were doing the Behemoth soundcheck.
Of course immediate security guard actions were taken and he had to leave the venue.
So that's why I left after 4 songs, cause it was still my friend you know.
Sucks more ass for him though, since it was his first Behemoth concert and I had already seen them once.

Not a clever dude your friend :p

People ACTUALLY still care what that pompous cunt does nowadays? I thought people just admired what he did before... I guess one learns new things everyday.

@Jose: Have you heard much of John 5? I mean, I prefer PG and Petrucci, but John 5's also pretty ridiculous and original.

I haven't checked much, but it just struck me that he was the one the guy came up with to say something DiMarzio has even with Yngwie dropping. He may be weird and somehow interesting, but PG himself hands tied to its back is enough to pwn that guy, and reason enough for DiMarzio not to care about Cockwie leaving.

Do any of you have experience/knowledge about this guitar? Jackson RX10D. I have an LTD AL-600-pink right now, and am looking to buy an inexpensive secondary guitar for alternate tunings and such. This guitar popped up on a local craigslist search, so I'm considering going over to try out this guitar and possibly negotiate a deal with him.

-edit; I'm reading on various forums that it'd be a better idea to get an RR3. What say ye guise?

I have a black RX10D guitar.
I guess its decent, but you can get a better guitar for that price and the duncan designed humbuckers aren't too great.
Also, compared to your pink sawtooth its not good.

How good is the quality of the RR3? Is it comparable to an RR24/LTD-pink-sawtooth? Is the licensed FR of the RR3 reliable? And is the RR3 PRO the same as an RR3?

I'd probably like an RR24 except for two problems - it's too expensive and there's only one pickup. I just don't want to end up buying the RR3 and end up not even playing it due to it feeling like w0rse quality than my LTD pink sawtooth.

Well the RR3 does have a rosewood fretboard and bolt-on neck, which to me personally are much less preferable than ebony and neck-thru.

A friend of mine plays a dx10d, plays fine, does lots of gigs with it, good guitar. I guess rx10d is the same quality..

RR3 is just an RX10D with better pickups, and as marfal said, X series aren't too bad. I say get it.
