That's one thing I have been trying, is doing some pretty light compression on the OH track to bring out the rides as much as possible. Also, doing a high-pass at 800Hz and then doing a very tight q'ed boost around 300Hz kind of helps the ride stick out, it doesn't add too much low-end back to the other cymbals (china, etc.), but it does give that extra oomph to the ride's "ping" that helps it stick out. I've been trying everything I can think of to keep from having to have the ride on a completely seperate track altogether, even though that would be ideal, it's just *that* much more work, yanno?
