Yeah.. it drowns pretty quicly in the OH mic.. which i compress a little as well..

That's one thing I have been trying, is doing some pretty light compression on the OH track to bring out the rides as much as possible. Also, doing a high-pass at 800Hz and then doing a very tight q'ed boost around 300Hz kind of helps the ride stick out, it doesn't add too much low-end back to the other cymbals (china, etc.), but it does give that extra oomph to the ride's "ping" that helps it stick out. I've been trying everything I can think of to keep from having to have the ride on a completely seperate track altogether, even though that would be ideal, it's just *that* much more work, yanno? get a clean singing singer. The yelling voice thing everybody is doing sucks to me. Your music is awesome and the tone is great. I'd like to hear more bands with better clearer singers.

Think of it like "skyfire" does... melodic metal with screamy vocals on it.. i think that sounds beautifull.

The RAAAAAA shit is whats killing me. I like the death metal tone but not the singing. I perfer singers that actually can sing.

Listen to Nevermore(example of todays heavy bands) that actually sing.
