How about a friendly guitar tone competition?

Ok, back from egypt! What did I miss?

Not all that much...as long as you submit your work today or tomorrow.

There have been a few issues with the DI's and backing tracks though

Here are the untrimmed DI files from Marcus, so you'd have to trim them to match the drums. This should fix the delay on the DIs:

Here is the drumfile again, which should be fine:

Here is the non-duplicated bass file. If you duplicate it correctly it shouldn't have that pop:

If someone could take the above files and work them into perfect contest files I'd really appreciate it. I'll then pm them to everyone friday so everyone has the weekend to use the improved files if they want to.

How was Egypt?

I just PMed all the participants with a reminder, and the links in my previous post in case they want to fix the "issues" with the backing/DI files. Lets see how many people actually send in their work:D

I really hope everything will work out.

I'm very very excited about my guitar tone...I'm actually playing the riff through my Blackmore.

Everything is good...besides my playing

I litrally threw up the mic *:puke:* dished the riffs off on strings that haven't been changed since 22BC and did a quick EQ. But meh if it gets good results that would please me even more!! :kickass:

Lookin' forward to teh t00nneeez!

Lemme put this up here again :D

As requested by Ahj, here are some guidelines regarding the volume.

- Faders at -6.00 dbFS for both bass and drums (or -18 dB RMS if you think the bass or the drums are too loud for your taste)
- Max -13 dB RMS for the mixdown and solo guitars

Regarding the format:

24bit 44khz wav is preferred.

I'd appreciate it if you'd follow these guidelines, would save me the trouble of matching the volumes later. If you already submitted your work, don't worry I'll make the adjustments for you.

So far I've received 10 entries, 42 more to go:p

Sorry guys, have to withdraw from this one. I just got back from the Tina Turner gigs in Helsinki and I'm fucking exhausted. Just how many trucks full of equipment can a 70-year-old lady need? Jesus!

I understand, Tina Turner > this competition.

More importantly...

Did you do her?

Ok, so I have a quick question. Are we supposed to upload a stereo track with just guitars, or are we supposed to upload the L and R channels as separate .WAV files. It wasn't clear to me in the Readme.

Thanks
