Wanted.jpg

As my wanted poster states, I'm trying to find out who this guy is.

He was in The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. Most people who have seen it remember him fondly as the lovable rocker who wanted to give his groupies "The whole shebang", who hates work and has never had a job, likes girls putting his eyeliner on him, and who "Will make it!". And his backup plan if he doesn't? "No but you see I will!"

Since that however he has disappeared off the face of the earth it seems, and his band Wet Cherry have to be the most obscure band from the Strip. I, and other fans, have been searching for anything - photos, flyers, demos, bootlegs - and come up with nothing at all on this infamous band Wet Cherry.
I have made it my mission to unravel the mystery of "The Wet Cherry guy". I have been doing my research and now have a list of 10 names of people who he is definitely one of. These are the only 10 males in the cast of The Metal Years who I cannot account for so he must be one of them. The only problem is that my search has come to somewhat of a dead end at the moment, I have emailed a couple of these people for leads or to at least be able to cross them off my list and get one step closer to the truth.

If anybody has any ideas how to get leads, or knows anybody who knows anything or can point me in the direction of somewhere I may be able to progress my investigation, please do so because I NEED YOUR HELP!

Not only for myself, but for the good of rock & roll.

Oh shit, this is the funniest thread I've seen around here for awhile!!!!!! I bet he moved up north in the early 90's and joined a grunge band.

You should try to find P Spheeris (sp?) email and ask her if she remembers the guys name. Or track down some of the other people who worked on the film and ask them. Man, this would be hard..... like a needle in a hair stack. :)

Maybe he has joined a mallcore band now, that's why nobody can recognize him anymore :ill:

or maybe he had a heart crisis after doing so many groupies... sad, truly sad.

Well, you can also publish the 10 names you got and maybe, just maybe someone recognize one and you can delete it....But it will be a hard search, guy can wear a 3 piece suit now or be a pornstar for the same... But keep us updated, quit intriguing thread I think...

I HAVE FOUND HIM!

His name is Kim Kelly, he was credited on the film as Kim Kelly Fox. He calls himself "Rez" these days though. The band is actually spelt Wet Cherri. I have found two demo tracks titled "My Little Sister" and "Bumpkin Pump" hahahaha! He was the guitarist in the band. I also found a flyer from 1988 which advertised two shows, one at Gazarri's and one at The Roxy and the flyer says "The wetter, The Better" haha!

These days he is doing nothing, but has posted up some new demos that are basically a solo project, himself playing guitar along with sequencers HAHAHA! And its rap-metal stuff hahahahahaha!

He also seems to still be the same as he was in the movie and claimed that nothing will ever top the metal years because they had better parties and the sex was flowing like wine! HAHAHA!

What a champ!

haha, cool you could locate him that quick !!
any links ????

I also am on the look for some 80's stuff. I played in a local
metal band (Sulfeet) and I'm searching for pics, flyers and stuff like that of it.
We even had 20 skateboards made for the first gig, that would be a Mega find. I would pay well up 500$ or so for one, just for the memories..Very hard as we did only 4 gigs (we were more a temporarely "fun"band of different members of other bands, but played for 500 people last time).
Like it is unbelievable, but somewhere a tape of the first gig turned up, and we could gather 5 or 6 pics of different gigs.
Now I'm hoping for some flyers or posters,... Posted everywhere on local websites...who knows... internet rules for these searches!!

Their page on IUMA - submitted by one of the guys in the band.

Somehow I think it was submitted by somebody ELSE who remembered the band and had the flyer. Although they had a demo track of the band. Either that or whoever it is in the band who submitted it at least has a sense of humour about them now.

The 2nd song "Bumpkin Pump" isn't even a song, its 3 minutes of sound effects of one of them fucking a groupie hahahaha!
