However, I did take your advice to check out the project hate's latest albums. i did dig the debut somewhat. good growls and riffs but boring lyrics.

I have both Nattestid Ser Porten Vid and Hordaland Doedskvad which I both enjoy but I don't think either is brilliant. I'll probably go give Nattestid another listen tomorrow and see if I'm missing anything though.

I remember saying I've heard other people say that Samael's later works were gay and then inquiring as to whether or not this was true and if I should check them out, but ok, twist things to your wishes if you must. I've also never commented on Graveland, despite the fact that I have no real urge to check out anything by them.

And yes, until I was righted about Samael being good, I had perceived them to be gay because that was the general consenus I'd always heard. But, if their early stuff is so godly, I am going to look into it and have had the intention to do so since then.
Graveland on the other hand, I may check out in time, but I'm in absolutely NO HURRY whatsoever to do so. I've since figured that their intangible gayness is simply Rob Darken himself. And note that I never said anything about their music, it may well be excellent, but so is the music of a bazillion other bands that interest me much more. I'll get around to both of these bands, it's just that I genuinely don't fucking care enough to bother with moving them up on my list over more deserving acts. I actually don't dismiss any bands without hearing them as well, but continue to believe so if you will. There is a difference between thinking "well, that band is probably gay" and "I'm never going to listen to this band's music ever!" It's pretty clear you're the one who does that, probably because of the rather true idea that Nate came up with that "someone else got to it first." I tell you what, post a yousendit of Graveland's music right now, I'll listen to it and tell you what I think about it, it's really the only way I'll ever hear it without buying an album, and that seems a long way off.
