Just to see how long it is now, I wanna cut it maybe to shoulder or so, see how I like it, if I'm ok with it then go shorter... also wanna get rid of my beard... I'm tired of looking like a fucking dirtbag eventhough I don't listen to metal anymore really. Saddest part is that I look way worse without this all shit.
I would cut it to an even length around your shoulders.
If you decide to go shorter than that, find someone who is actually good with hair at a salon and get them to do layers and shit. Maybe get it shorter around the front. Not bangs or anything, but just enough.
Seriously though, even if it costs more, get it done by someone good who understands what you're going for. An extra $10-20 is worth not looking like an idiot or ugly.
As for the facial hair, I would trim it before getting rid of it. Keep it short and well groomed and you won't look like a dirty metalhead. If you still don't like it, then you can get rid of it from there.

Bro, cut off more if you want a change! I had almost as long hair as you have now but after having it had it cut to shoulder length I decided to cut off more because it didnt really look any better or even different

"Semilong" hair is one of the most gay things you could ever have (like you looked on your last pic).
I cut my metal hair just two months ago (was as long as yours), and went for short sides and longer top gele'd up and its looks 100 times better than the long hair.
You wont regret it.
Cut the beard so its short but visible going down from your hair to the chin in a broad line, that works very well with short sides cause the hair is essentially giong into the beard, I kinda like that.

I shaved my head from mid back length and it was probably the best decision I'd made in years. I've been getting compliments ever since. I was going to let it grow back to a reasonable length, like maybe 2-3 inches but I think I'll probably go buzz cut with slightly longer top. My hair is pretty curly, so it's basically impossible to style at medium lengths.

I don't know if it would look super super extra good on you, but Robert Downey Jr, yeah well he's a god.
Also, maybe you'd consider cutting it not-extremely-short, like army-like or something, just in case, style it differently and see if it looks good, and if it doesn't no matter what you do, then go for short-short.

Long hair looks good on you, I don't know why you'd want to lose it...especially since you are going into art-fagotry as a career, and fall is blowing in...and its not like you need to impress girls, you're basically married. You basically have a licenses to look like a dirtbag/mean motherfucker the rest of your life.

If going short go all out. go for a number5 clipper on the sides, and ask to keep the top a bit longer (they should know wtf you want from that).
If a 5 is too long still, or looks too fuzzy get a smaller number. I go for 3
Most importantly, don't go to some supercuts style place. The reason the people there work at Supercuts and not their own salon, is because they would go broke if they tried to open a salon, because they suck. Guy who cuts my hair is an ex-pro wrestler from the 80s, and cuts the hair of David Braley, and other such local power-houses
