For the record, I wouldn't go so far as to say I like Judas Priest. I enjoy some of their stuff but don't really consider them to be metal. Same goes for Motorhead, great band but as rock n roll as it gets. As for Slayer... I think they were fucking revolutionary and are really masters at what they do, but I don't really like them that much, I only ever listen to them for a couple songs at a time.

The old stuff is metal too. Listen to rerecordings, it's definitely metal. The original recordings have a very feeble sound, not much punch, so I understand why some morons might think they aren't metal. But if you pay attention to the structure of the riffs, it's definitely metal.

As for Motorhead, I love them. But they play rock music, and I'm pretty sure Lemmy would agree with me. They play dirty, blues-based hard rock music

There's a difference between "not like" and "hate." Hating is for people who have never made an attempt to approach something open-mindedly but simply hate it on general principle. Not liking is for people who give something a fair chance and decide it's not for them.

No it's not because you fail to take into account that most power metal fans (hell most well versed metal fans in general) don't like Dragonforce either. It's not just black and death metal fans that hate Dragonforce. Power metal usually doesn't use harsh vocals (unless you're talking about the Children of Bodom-esque power metal but that's an entirely different genre as far as I'm concerned) so that argument is worthless.

As for why people hate Dragonforce; it's the same reason why people hate, say, 3 Inches of Blood. It's an extremely poor and watered down example of power metal.

I have nothing against dragonforce. Actuallym I kinda am getting into them now. Which albums are your favorite? I like the second release better cause they tend to play a bit faster, but the 3rd release has alot more structure.
