They are my favourite band around now. Since they are still producing good music they may become my favourite of all time, but for now that goes to Yes. Of all time Opeth would be 7th or 8th behind Yes, Camel, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Caravan, The Beatles and Deep Purple.
I've gotta say I don't mind most of NFU's ranting, but it is not hard to pick a favourite band. If there is not one band that you enjoy more than any other then you are clearly focusing too much on liking alot of bands rather than actually enjoying them.

i've been on a deftones kick, just got their new album and found some rare shit online and downloaded it. i put some opeth on about an hour ago and cant stop listening. opeth is the only band that can bring me out of a kick like that.

Really? I downloaded 3 tracks from Limewire then bought the album off eBay. I'm positive you'd be able to find most of their songs on P2P programs. And just inc ase you didn't realise they have some stuff on their Myspace page (Once is my pick).

I've heard Scars, Pain and Hello. They're awesome, but thanx for that i will check out the myspace
