is Wintersun the next CoB?

Well, I bumped into one discussion with a group of metalheads at work and they were reasoning that Wintersun is just as good, technically, as Children of Bodom and that eventually, they'll be better,commercially, than them. They were saying that they'll replace that band as the kings of that genre. They were also pointing the similarities and differences. For me, I thought that their debut album was pretty solid in musicianship and production. The same guys were saying that Wintersun's debut album has had more of an impact within the metal world than CoB's debut album.

I don't think anybody would listen to WIntersun if Jari Mäenpää weren't in it..or rather wasn't WIntersun. It's just a terrible power metal band that uses keyboards way too much but because of Jari it's hailed as brilliant :[

Maybe not entirely correct but I think WIntersun sucks.

Me too because CoB sound like power metal with black metal vocals and same goes for In Flames,Dark Tranquilitty,Norther,Soilwork,Kalmah, and most bands considered melodic-death metal. Melodic Death Metal to me is Edge of Sanity,Necrophobic,Amorphis, and Bloodbath which are basically musically/vocally death metal just with melody.
