It's killer. I like it much more than Blackwater Park and Still Life, they just didn't seem to have a dark feel to them. This is heaps good though, it's much more Death Metal than before...
I should hope so. SL wasn't about death, it was about a guy chasing after this that he loved. And BWP was more of a wintry album...not to much about death, but about coldness...and loneliness (sic).
Admittedly, i'm pretty new to the band. I've heard it all except My Arms Your Hearse, and the really older stuff like Orchid is really haunting, a little bit because of the hollow sounding production, but still life in particular is really warm, and it still doesn't click with me. I'll give it time tho.
One of the songs on deliverance (can't remember which one) really starts off like morbid angel, i swear it! I love it

Still Life and Blackwater Park were not about death? Read the lyrics to " Serenity Painted Death" "White Cluster" and " Dirge for November" and then tell me those are not about death.
