Last movie you've watched

Just a brilliant director, Period. You da man Marty!

Anyways last week I saw Cop Out.. was funny and entertaining. And this week so far I saw The Crazies. I thought it was excellent for a horror type of movie. Never seen the original George Romero version but critics are saying this remake is better then the Romero one. Tomorrow I might see Alice or She's out of my League... i'm also interested in Green Zone and Remember Me even though the latter got bad ratings..

Saw Cop Out with my ex on Saturday. 'Twas dumb but funny, which happens to be one of my favorite type of movie.

8 Grim-Faced Headbangs out of 10. 7 of which are attributed to Tracey Morgan because he never fails to crack me up. :headbang:

Was it any good? The avatar
Ive been thinking cause of all the success i should maybe check it at some point

Just watched the Casino yesterday. Maybe a bit too long, had some struggle to stay awake at some point towards the end (like two am when i was watchin) but good one.

E: Just finished Pulp Fiction. i first saw this like 6 months ago and was like "woooah". Then on the next day i watched it again and was like "WOOOAH". And now watched it for third time and still it just keeps on "wooahing" me. Propably the best movie ive seen. Ever.

Samuel l Jackson is the most badass guy in the universe.

I saw She's out of my League... it was good. I liked it but that's because I like romantic comedies. So might not be you guys cup of tea. The girl is absolutely gorgeous in that movie. Flawless, and not just physically. Her name is Alice Eve I believe. Unfortunately because of her beauty I think she will get typecast in her career.

Avatar is an excellent movie. Personally i like all movie made by james Cameroon. Avatar is a Special one.

Saw Repo Men last night starring Jude Law and Forest Whittaker. Good action movie though a little gory. If you don't have a strong stomach, don't watch this one.

Just yesterday i watched Van Diesel's movie "A MAN APARTS".
And? good or not and why?

Yesterday I saw Clash of the Titans... i liked it even though it was a remake... the 3D glasses were a waste of time.. not much 3D in the movie itself... paid $15.75 for each ticket... good movie but glasses were a waste of money.... they should give you the option of wanting the glasses or not so your not charged for them if you don't...

anyways, has anyone noticed that Hollywood is becoming "remake" city... it's like they have no original ideas anymore so they take old movies and do remakes of them:

Death at a Funeral
Clash of the Titans
Nightmare on Elm Street etc.. etc..

Just got done watching Inglourious Basterds. The movie to me is just kind've...meh, but Brad Pitt is pretty awesome in it.

Alice in wonderland is a good movie to watch. I like all things like story, casting, music, animation, background sound all are excellent.

I saw Date Night... a non-thinking comedy... Tina Fey is good as usual as is Steve Carrell... lots of laughs... I want to see Hot Tub Time Machine next though...

That's been going on for almost 12 years now. It was incredibly annoying at first, but I think nowadays this bullshit 3D trend is a much bigger threat to the film industry.

Last one I saw in theaters was the new Robyn Hood (Ridley Scott) w/ Russel Crowe. They did a fine job i think.

Watched "The Negotiator" last night (Sam. L Jackson and Kevin Spacey) - older, but a very good thriller/action

I just watched Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and it was very good, now I'm waiting for the Expendables and the Rifftrax Reefer Madness in theaters both in Aug. in the usa

I saw the midnight screening of Salt last night, Ebert gave it ****, so I figured it might be worth a look. Angelina Jolie was phenomenal, she really carried the film out of the muck and mire that the painfully familiar plot got itself into. Althought Ebert's perfect rating may have been a bit...insane, it was still well worth the ticket price.

The day before that I saw Cyrus and Solitary Man. The former was a complete surpise, it was much darker than I ever imagined a John C. Reilly/Jonah Hill movie could be, but it was interesting to see such talented actors who are usually typecast venture into unfamiliar terrain. The latter was exactly as you would expect it to be. Michael Douglas played a sex-crazed, down on his luck, former car sales mogul who sleazes his way into a seemingly irreversible coma of empty sexual encounters and general self-loathing. There are brief glimpses of humanity in his pitiful life that Douglas delivers so well, it makes the ticket price and investment of time worth it by that alone. I thought of this new character of Ben Kalmen as what Gordon Gekko would look like if he had that extra dimension that people so criticized Wall Street for lacking.

I wouldn't say the last 12 years... but it is definetly very prevalent nowadays... too many remakes and not enough originality. But anyways i haven't posted on this thread in long time and it's probably my favorite thread on UM  I have seen ALOT of movies in the past few months. I hope i can remember all or most to post here:

1. Get him to the Greek - hands down the funniest movie of the year. No doubt.

2. Letters to Juliet - If you want a good chick flick then this is the one

3. Just Wright - was ok but not better then Letters to Juliet in terms of chick flick.

4. Salt - Awesome action thriller suspense movie. Imo Angeline's best action movie.

5. Predators - To me it was the best one. The 1st one imo was overrated though I consider it the 2nd best one. Arnold's movies are mostly good for his one liners. That is what people remember the most about his movies including the first Predator.

6. Death at a Funeral - sucked big time. Only thing I liked about this one was looking at Zoey Saldana. What a hot chick.

7. Youth in Revolt - Weird but I liked it. Michael Cera always seems to be in good movies.

8. The Losers - great action movie. My 2nd favorite after Salt probably. This one is a straight up action movie without thinking too much about it. While Salt is the opposite but both are very good. Zoey Saldana is in this one. hot chick.. :p

9. Iron Man 2 - What can i say? just as good as the first one except wasn't too happy they casted Don Cheadle.

10. Karate Kid - I was surprised to have liked this. Didn't think it would be good since I was a fan of the 1st one. I do dislike both actors who play the main character in both movies though lol Ralph Macchio and Will Smith's kid but otherwise the movie was good. With Jackie Chan in it I didn't think it would be a serious movie.

11. Up in the Air - very good drama movie.... one of Clooney's best.

12. Eclipse - much more serious then the first 2 in the series. Definetly more action filled. Not sure if it's the best one. I'm still partial to the 1st one as my favorite.

13. The Last Airbender - liked it but not for everyone i think...

14. Inception - worth the money.... always liked psychological thrillers...

15. Robin Hood - very good and probably my favorite of any Robin Hood movie...

16. Jonah Hex - good fun movie... Megan Fox is the highlight of course :p

17. The Crazies - scary movie. A remake but i suspect this one is a better version then the original.

18. The Lovely Bones - good movie. Sad though. Marky Wahlberg as a father of a teenager girl: Not!

19. Edge of Darkness - One of Mel's good ones imo. Despite his problems recently he is a good director/actor.

20. Killers - was ok. Not great but entertaining. Could of been better. Probably best for renting the DVD.

21. Hot Tub Time Machine - 2nd funniest movie of year imo after Get him to the Greek.

22. Knight and Day - loved it.. worth the money imo.

23. City Island - liked it but I always though Andy Garcia was overrated as an actor. He's good but not as good as critics say.

Probably others that I cannot remember off hand... but this is a good list for you guys.... I'm looking forward to seeing M. Night's Devil, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Little Fockers and a few others...

Takers - Great action thriller heist movie... highly recommend it... Paul Walker tends to be in good movies

Machete - corny action movie that seems to pay tribute to low budget 70's movies with alot of gore. Bad acting but done on purpose as a tribute to a bygone era. Some surprise "guest" stars in this one. Entertaining though and i recommend it. I'm glad to see that Danny Trejo finally gets to star in a movie. He plays it well.

The American - Dreary movie from beginning to end. The characters, locations, etc. And it's in Italy of all places where you don't think of anything dreary lol Very good movie imo BUT it leaves alot of unanswered questions from the beginning. Clooney is perhaps an underrated actor but he shows he can act in this one much like in his last one Up In the Air and Michael Clayton.
