Last movie you've watched

I just got back from National Treasure 2. It was pretty much exactly the same fucking movie as the first one.

Last movie i saw was Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I practically almost fell asleep in the theater. I was tired from working day before (Christmas Eve) and to top it the movie was mostly a musical. If it wasn't for the musical part it wouldn't have bored me to death. It could of been a great movie with strictly dialogue vs singing. It's a serial killer for christ sakes with a woman making meat pies out of body parts lol No Singing!!!!

Objectively, Hitman was an absolutely terrible movie. However considering I'm rarely objective and really rather partisan most of the time, I loved it. It's lame enough to work, despite the wholly unoriginal and actually poorly copied everything.

The Bourne Ultimatum. Great ending to the trilogy!

Sex & Fury. Watched it looking for Kill Bill influences. They're easy to spot in this one. +1 point for the female lead being completely nude hacking people up with a samurai sword. -1 point for the "spy" sub plot and the horrible dialogue therein. +1 point for Christina Lindberg's nude scenes.

I Am Legend. Basically a more suspensful and scientific Resident Evil.

How? I saw that a few days ago, I have no idea how Cebola proves Ben's grandpas innocence.

Halloween (2007). I thought it sucked. The characters were horrible, one-dimensional, and so annoying that Michael Meyers couldn't possibly give them the death I wished upon them. All of the horror and suspense was sucked out of it in favor of cheap scares, shitty dialogue, and laughable events. I thought Rob would have a little more attention to detail, but this seems an outlet for his hillbilly psychoporn fantasies.

Anyways... the last movie i saw was Atonement.... great acting, great story and great movie... highly recommend it... I thought I would get bored but i didn't... I can see this one being nominated for best movie and other awards at the Oscars... it already has for the Golden Globes... and rightfully so...

Hell yeah. I saw this when it hit the UK in September and it's excellent. Maybe I'm being unfair but I didn't think many whom frequent this board would enjoy it.

It's brilliantly told, and despite the post-modern ending being every-so-slightly wanky, it's awesome. Some of the direction is mind blowing (I'm thinking of a certain beach scene).

I've completely given up on independent films. I watched a film adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's short story "Beyond the Wall of Sleep" and it was fuckin' horrible. Before returning it to Blockbuster I decided to watch it a second time with the commentary on. It was hilarious, the creators sounded completely plastered. Later on in the commentary they admitted that they were on a combo of Red Bull and vodka. The entire script was written in three days, you gotta be impressed with that.

^ saw that yesterday

The last movies I watched were:

Juno
Fight Club
The Master Swordsman Returns (although I couldn't finish it because the dvd was defective)

The Kingdom - Was a lot better than I thought it would be.

Female Yakuza Tale - More naked samurai women. There's so much sex in this one that it got old and I completely last track of the plot (if there was one).

DOA - haha @ DOA Beach Volleyball segment. The chicks were pretty hot. "Helena" and the purple-haired ninja chick get my vote.

I Am Legend.
Good acting, good story, but the dark-whatsit-creatures were laughable.
.. 'cept the times they popped out from nowhere and scared the shit out of me.

I liked I Am Legend. I'm the in camp that thinks Will Smith is a likeable chap able to hold a movie. Those saying the Zombies lacked a certain something (they looked terrible at points!) are right, for sure. I've always liked the novel, and the Omega Man was pretty alright too. It's a good premise, but it never quite films well towards the end.

Nevertheless, I think Smith tapped into some of the motifs pretty well and the movie runs pretty smoothly. It's hardly stunning direction, but it's pretty snappy and suits the movie.
