lets see some pics of everyones set up..

Well rigid fiberglass would be better for the corners, but I don't think you'd get a significant improvement using it in place of the Auralex on the flat walls, since that's just meant to tame annoying echoes

Probably not. I would like to see if it helps the bass any. In the mix position, I don't have too much trouble, but it sounds bass heavy if you move anywhere else in the room. I have bass traps in the corners behind the desk, but I don't think they show too well in the pics.

The desk is about 18-24 inches from the back wall. Best I could do, the room is SMALL, lol.

Yeah, I saw the bass traps, but they're still Auralex foam, so rigid fiberglass (OC703) in place of 'em will definitely be better

Here's a couple pics I took after getting my new monitors set up

XBox ftw lol

Classy LCD monitor stand, Melodeath :p Do you connect it to your 360 with the VGA cables?

lol. The day before I got my Auralex foam stands I had the speakers on styrofoam that came in their box as well!

But yes, a better LCD stand would be nice.

Yes, I got the VGA cable for my 360. VGA into my LCD, and the audio cables into my audio interface with 1/4" adapters. :) My TVs are not hi-def, but my monitor is, so I simply had to get the VGA cable haha. Plus, this way I don't have to take a TV to college, especially with a PCI TV tuner

Here's my temporary ghetto setup...

We just track there, never mixed there so the fact that the mix position, symmetry and acoustic treatment is horrifying is not too big of a deal for what we use it for ...I'm buying a house in a few months though and then the basement studio construction shall commence!

A very humble setup, but it works.

Nice Mark, is that a dorm room? I'd imagine you get some wicked bass buildup with your monitors in there, but you've done what you can with acoustic treatment, I see

im in a semi detatched house, im too old for living in halls/dorms! :) and actually the bass is minimal actually, as the setup is at the end of a rectangular room. compared to my old room (where i was in the corner) the tonal balance is actually better!! great thing is those alesis monitors dont have a massive boomy and long decaying bottom range, so it sounds good :) the treatment ive put up is really to stop the early reflections. works great actually

the pic below is where i used to mix:
