How would I know? Ohh, I don't know. I've been listening to metal for the past 13 years of my life and I've been studying music for just as long. It's common fucking knowledge that grunge is a subgenre of rock music. Don't go and appeal to the fact that this guy "went into pretty much everything starting from the roots", as if that proves anything. So fucking what? I'm sure grunge can be more rock-ish or metal-ish depending on the band. Soundgarden is even listed in Metal-Archives as a metal band. Now, I've only been listening to metal for four or five years, and I don't study music, but I know enough to be sure that anal, self-righteous pricks like Cythraul are worth about as much as their trivial arguments over genre definitions. There is no ultimate authority who determines what genre a band falls in.
