Moonsorrow's best album by far is Verisäkeet

Sure, if you're talking Magni Blandinn and OK whatever Falkenbach. The Falkenbach debut poops on Moonsorrow's viking wannabe heads. :tickled:

Take out "happy" and just stick with bombastic.

While I still think Kivenkantaja is their most consistently satisfying album, I agree with Jay that Verisakeet represents a peak for Viking metal and it has a song of the year candidate (for me the opening track), if only for the unprecedented degree of epicness...

i'll take kivenkantaja over verisakeet, but i really haven't given verisakeet enough time...it started slow for me and i know i just need to listen more but you know, so many albums, so little time :erk:

I've listened to each Moonsorrow album many, many, many times and as the resident Moonsorrow fanboy, this is my final full-length album verdict:

1) Kivenkantaja - the most epic journey ever (10/10)
2) Suden Uni - a magnificent journey with a great groove and a very CONSTANT awesomeness (9.5/10)
3) Verisakeet - a darker and overall extremely powerful and emotional vibe.
4) Voimasta Ja Kunniasta - a journey that FAILS ENTIRELY when compared to the rest (Moonsorrow rating: 4/10, normal album rating: 6.5/10)

"Haaska" is probably the song of the year, along with "Coffin Ships".
I was listening to this the other night on my iPod, and starting to get into it. I'll have to go back and listen to this track specifically.

Top 5 Songs of 2005:

Nevermore - Born
Redemption - Parker's Eye
Primordial - The Coffin Ships
Novermber's Doom - The Pale Haunt Departure

Zod, I agree with JayKeeley - Haaska absolutely rules and is probably my favorite off the new one as well - I was just jamming out to it this morning.

OK. I'm going to have to crank this up at the gym at lunch time. Nothing like a combination of creatine, caffeine, taurine, nitric oxide and Viking Death Metal to get the juices flowing.:hotjump:

What score would you give it then?

I'd agree with those two.

That's the problem right there. One thing I've learned, never buy the entire discography in one go. You just end up in mass confusion system overload error delete *.* password: joshua.

yeah. thats like when I got the entire slough feg discography. Listened to it solid for three days and haven't listened since. other than the odd song here and there. i'll get back into it in the spring (the most slough feg weather).

edit: I was planning to make today moonsorrow day. But it was really fucking cold when I went out to the car so it became black metal day.

tomorow mayhaps.
