Most Hit or Miss Bands?

I feel like despite all the praise they get, Seance is majorly hit-or-miss. I like select sections of songs on Saltrubbed Eyes...for instance, my oft-cited example is the beginning of Soulerosion being one of the most powerful, stampeding, incredible examples of DEATH FUCKING METAL, and indeed that entire song is good, then The 13th Moon is horrible, and the rest of the album is totally spotty from then on. Classic? Maybe. Consistent? Ehh...

Their new one was pretty good too but has some obvious throwouts.

Har har.

Honestly I don't see what's so offensive about "Last Rose of Summer". It's really pretty decent, and the sound they pull off is quite impressive for a metal band that doesn't really do soft rock.

I didn't say I didn't like 'Last Rose of Summer', just that everything after Starbreaker is hit or miss, which means I could like LRoS or I could hate it.

Faggot.

Sin After Sin is a great album. I don't think there's any weak songs on it. "Last Rose of Summer" has a beautiful vocal performance and is way above average if you want to call it soft rock.

Priest were golden for a long time before getting spotty, so they don't apply here either.

I don't think that 4 or 5 albums from a band that has 16 qualifies as a long time. They'd clearly lost quite a bit of steam and already started to dumb down by the time British Steel rolled around. :)

Fixed that for you

We're talking about bands that are a mix of good and bad on their albums. In Flames has been all bad for quite some time.

Njiqahdda, one song will be ambient black metal and the next will be something that wouldn't sound out of place on a Sounds of the Rain Forest tape
