Most passionate metal singers?

Dickinson for me...I mean listen to Wasted Years or Paschendale and just listen to the emotion in his voice...it's amazing.

I'd also say that Hansi from Blind Guardian, while not a "great" vocalist by any means usually sings with a lot of emotion. He must have very strong feelings about Lord of the Rings (lol).

I guess they're at the top when it comes to metal singers, but usually do not care for them. Cristina Scabbia is one of my favorite singers in metal so. Jonas Renske and Dan Swano also. I can relate to these vocalists lyrics and the tone/range/mood,etc.. and how they approach it and sound. I can't get anything from metal vocalists singing about dragons or lord of the rings, what the fuck most metal vocalists talk about.

Side note. Paul Di'Anno's vocals on Killers are better then anything from Bruce Dickinson.

Halford lyrically a lot of times fucking sucks after the 70's, the entire fact that people really still give a shit, he might be the metal-god and everything. Maybe someone else should write his lyrics because he has no time to record decent music because he's making metal god merch. I like Punani.

Leather, lazer beams, metal, turbo loving, ramming it down, ha

Naihmass Nemtheanga (Primordial) was the first one to pop into my head.

Nemtheanga

He's always the first I think of. He might be the most phenomenal vocalist in metal today.

Goddamn, not one mention of QUORTHON!

Yeah, I noticed that too (although Nemtheanga is more intense, for me).

I'd also add:

Ilja Jalkanen (Kiuas)
David DeFeis (Virgin Steele)
Vorph (Samael); others might not agree, but his vocals on "The Cross" still give me chills.

I'd also say that Hansi from Blind Guardian, a truly great vocalist that usually sings with a lot of emotion. He must have very strong feelings about Lord of the Rings.

This. Also, there are many people out there who are passionate about and even obsessed with Lord of the Rings, making jokes about it only shows your lack of creative and imaginative skill.

Mark Tornillo. Doesn't feel at all like a replacement vocalist/vocalist for hire, and sings with ACCEPT like his life depended on it. Saw him live and he kicked ass.

Rob Halford. I kind of agree about the lyrics but I don't find them any worse than most metal lyrics.
