most solid metal album of 2007 so far?

Okay, here's four fun releases this year that I'd put in the death catagory:

Inveracity - Extermination of Millions (2007)
Fleshcrawl - Structures of Death (2007)
Goreality - Perverse Depraved Indifference (2007)
Whitechapel - The Somatic Defilement (2007)

Extermination Of Millions is fucking awesome. That Fleshcrawl sounds like other Fleshcrawl, which means good, solid, catchy, melodic-ish DM with a bit of old-school thrown in for good measure. I NEED that Goreality, fuck...and Whitechapel are one of the better brutal deathcore bands around.

I haven't heard any truly good black metal this year. I thoroughly enjoyed In Sorte Diaboli and Graveland's Will Stronger Than Death, but neither of them really had anything amazing about them.

Has anyone picked up Xecutioner's Return? I'm eager to hear reviews. I have high hopes for the album because of Ralph Santolla.

Get it. It is great.

I'm still sticking by my pick of Devildriver's new one as the most solid album of 2007

Yea, I dont know what I was thinking.

I was hoping Sunn0)))'s new one would be a great one but it was not.

Have there been any good drone releases this year?

that's because Sunn is overrated as hell.... like most SL releases.

I notice for 2007 am really drawn to albums with pop/rock influences,etc.. am starting to think mainstream listeners are not always wrong and it's actually a really inspiring 2007 for me in terms of music just based on not many albums at all released. I am starting to open up towards music more than ever.
