most solid metal album of 2007 so far?

God you are such a faggot...Deron never responds to my PMs about getting you banned.

This is a clear failure of the forum's emergency management system. We need to implement a proper chain of command as soon as possible.

How is the new Amorphis?

I still need to get that somehow..

It's very good and basically just a natural progression from Eclipse so if you enjoy that you will love it. I think the album is only out in europe because i've been to an FYE a few times over the past few weeks and it is not in stock.

Eclipse is fucking awesome. I just checked the website and it said the album will be out on the 18th in the states, so this month will be a great month for new releases as Down, Arch Enemy and Darkthrone all come out this month.

The list of "meh" and albums I don't care for:
BEHEMOTH • The Apostasy
ABIGOR • Fractal Possession
ROTTING CHRIST • Theogonia
DODHEIMSGARD • Supervillain Outcast
SAMAEL • Solar Soul
TULUS • Biography Obscene

Any recommendations are welcome, especially of black metal. Chances are if it's not listed I probably have it anyways.

I haven't heard any of those yet, but isn't it kind of depressing that those bands were all once either good or great?

I wonder why it is that funnyname black metal appeals to me, but when a brutal death band uses dumb, "funny" or "silly" song titles, it completely turns me off.
You prefer unintentional humour to intentional?

-Old gothenburg??Could I say early in flames,at the gates, dark tranquillity are all kinda gothenburg? Is there any certain music style of gothenburg??What do you mean of same old same old gothenburg???You have to thanks to dark tranquillity, because they bringed to you a "old gothenburg",which was almost disappeard.

-Tell me,how many time do you listen to their album??One time or only heard one or two songs, then geting your own conclusion.I perfer to accept your point only if you really listen it carefully.

-Thx mate. Now it's clear that you firstly judge music by their name, isn't it?I would like to see more music comments, not your nonsence "funnyname black metal".

-I think they must be appreciated and flattered if they know that they are compared with Britney Spears.Hail Britney Spears.
OK???

Can't really remember whats been released this year and can't be bothered to check the sticky, so I'll mention the only ones I can remember that've been good:

Amorphis - Silent Waters
November's Doom - The Novella Reservoir
The Mirimar Disaster - The Mirimar Disaster
Neurosis - Given To The Rising

Yes, it's a shame when that happens to any band.

With Behemoth, despite the praise for many fans I thought it was a incredibly mediocre and doesn't even come close to Demigod. I also dislike the production values.

With Abigor, I used to like some of their early material but I just can't into their new one. And well, Rotting Christ is a band that I've never really seen as anything special and this album only proves my point (of course, its a matter of taste since I've mostly heard good things about the album). The Tulus album is very average, and the production values work against the album I think being relatively clean but I do like the violin. And the other two I didn't like either. And generally none of these albums are as good as previous efforts.

I'm going to have to be boring and say Nile - Ithyphallic. It just does what it was supposed to do, no suprises or disappointments.

Though I have to say I liked Swallow The Sun's new album. And Behemoth's isn't bad neither.

for me:

Vital Remains, Icons Of Evil
Deadlock - Wolves
Behemoth - The Apostasy
Blinded By Faith - Weapons Of Mass Distraction :kickass:
Nightwish - Dark Passion Play

I must be behind in music because those are new names to me.
:OMG:

:lol: don't worry, the only bands that are popular in that list is Jesu and Pain of Salvation. I haven't heard of most of the bands in that list also. Jesu is some really great post rock and Pain of Salvation is a band that created some of the best progressive metal ever made.

(I have'nt really bought many 2007 releases this year)

You aren't missing out much. Sigh, Shining, DSO (if you like evil music), and Wolfchant seem to be the only essential 2007 metal albums imo. The ' should be here haven>>'<<t

fixed your post.
