most solid metal album of 2007 so far?

So far...my top 5 metal albums are:
SACRIFICA MORTUORUM Maturum Est
CONTROL HUMAN DELETE Terminal World Perspective
WALKNUT Graveforests and Their Shadows
SCARS OF CHAOS Humanitarian War Machine
and maybe...
NAGLFAR Harvest
A bit disappointing and I'm not currently 'into' the album as I was when it was released but it's still very good.
I've listened to a lot of albums, and as it was months ago, the year has still been relatively disappointing. I'm trying to assemble a top 20 list but I always find these difficult to make. I mainly listen to black metal so the list is most likely to consist largely of black metal if I do get around to making one.

You know, I didn't mind them a few years ago despite a lot of the flak they got. But the new album, maybe they just don't have any appeal to me anymore, but I thought it was pretty mediocre compared to their previous two releases. I think Dez should vary his vocals more.

That's one of the better BM offerings this year, definitely. Such a great, MORBID fucking atmosphere.

1. Sigh - Hangman's Hymn
2. Anberlin - Cities (not metal, they're a christian rock band and they're amazing!)
3. Wolfchant - A Pagan Storm
4. Dark Tranquility - Fiction
5. Alcest - Souvineirs
For 5th favorite metal album it's going to be DSO - Fas

Well, I don't mind their first album because it was kind of a 'fun' album if that makes sense. Their song writing ability is obviously getting better, but I think 'Fury' is a better album overall than the new one. But like I said it could just be me losing interest in that band because I got nothing out of their new one. Perhaps I'll give it another try, but I just wish Dez would vary his vocals more.
