ok swedish jerks: if youre considering the reliability and handling physics behind a moving object, it helps to be an engineer. yes, the bikes are fairly simple and yeah, its not a bridge but it moves and turns corners. its also made of metal. do you want to be traveling at 100 km/h on something that is made out of the wrong metal?

and no, the top of the line dudes arent engineers. they are artisans who come up with a design and farm out the work to other artisans. nothing wrong with that. im just saying.
The very TOP OF THE LINE dudes are engineers, they make their own cylinders, they know all kinds of crap I don't about metals and stuff, but agreed, most aren't and just design bikes, weld some stuff together, throw in HD stock engines and the biggest wheels they can find - add some flames and voilá

American Chopper guys BUY all the parts from venodrs and put them together ... personally I think all their work is rather tasteless, with a few exceptions.

Jesse James on the other hand is a real blacksmith that actually USED TO make his own frames and all ... this is not the case anymore as the man is obviously busy banging Sandra Bullock.

but really, a bike like Mike showed above, can be had for as little as $25-$30K ... numerous small custom shops around here make this.

my fave has to be Indian Larry's bikes ... real old school flavor and really just artfully done. :kickass:

Most modern "choppers" are so gaudy and stupid they make ricers look like the pinnacle of taste. Ugh, I hate that shit.

Reminds me of beaners and their damn lowrider bikes, 40 year old cholos wearing Freddie Krueger sweaters.

If I was to have a kickass custom chopper I would BUILD IT MYSELF. Not make all the parts but decide what and put it together and it would be MINE. That's more than just a sweet piece to ride

meh, choppers are interesting but i dont see the appeal to riding them. arent they pretty uncomfortable and stuff?
