Music video

Since I made a negative comment above, I actually watched the videos to get a better feel for them. Still far from my thing, but not nearly as bad as the first.

I wouldn't call any guitar work that I heard particularly special, but definitely more substantial than what year hear in most rock music today.

However, like I said, post-grunge hard rock and metalcore is not my thing at all. The only thing that I've ever really been able to get into is Shadows Fall's The War Within CD, and that really almost leans more toward the thrashy side of things with hardcore vocal stylings. The sound and lyrical style of most of this kind of music just doesn't do it for me.

I can't really speak for how DH relates/compares to the other bands mentioned, since I'm not familiar enough with any of them.

Heh, I'm not claiming that DH is fantastic or anything.

Just thought I'd point out that when I was referring to Patrick Judge, I meant him as a guitarist in general, not what is played in Demon Hunter.

I'm not trying to put down anyone else's opinion, either, just to clarify. Just felt like I needed to be fair and give their other songs a listen since I had judged them on the basis of a single song. Like I said, this genre isn't my thing, so I don't judge anyone else for thinking they're great. Different strokes.

Haha, well keep in mind that was 2007, before most of the new album was written. I think there are several songs on this one that would make a good video, so it's a good problem to have.

However, bear in mind that with a tiny budget like ours, you're pretty much going to get a band/performance video, so the concept of the song doesn't really factor into it all that much. If money was no object, then yeah some of the more conceptual ones could be turned into really cool videos. But when you have a typical Metal band budget...and you try to make a conceptual video with effects and everything...

You get this:

^ :D:D That's gotta be the funniest thing I've ever seen. But please don't ever emulate them, Theocracy. XD

But why does it cost so much to make a music video ? Are there a lot of people who would work on it and then make it expensive ?

Coincidence?

I THINK NOT!

^ They're pretty much as bad as they could possibly be, anyway--even without the video.

Edit: Haha, I didn't notice the Mirror of Souls in there. :)

I couldn't figure what was worse, the video or the music.
Pretty much sums up my thoughts on it too. Also, they should never be allowed near swords again - they were so inept at using them it could well prove fatal. Funny to watch though

Oh well, to quote one of the commenters:

this is still better than friday
I may not listen to Friday out of choice but I'd prefer to listen to it rather than this song which is in the most part dull! Maybe not something I should admit to here but...yeah...

Actually, the funniest thing about Friday was the steady stream of cover videos and songs, some of which were pretty well done.

It costs a good amount of money to shoot a good video. The camera's, software, it all costs money. Plus, it's always good to have an actual director that understands how story lines and video flow, lighting, camera angles etc. Otherwise you end up with a mess.

@Teo : was that in the video ??? It's like the Artwork from MoS has been blended in the picture

That wasn't in the video you saw.... But it was in the original video, before it was altered by the government in their ploy to conceal their schemes. I used the powers of science to restore the video to its original form, and what I found was shocking.

Spread the truth.

I can't get the image of John and Val doing picture in picture shredding together with all kinds of whammy effects out of my head...

^at least that was supposed to be funny.

Couldn't stand the singer's hair, though. Those bangs on men always look very girly. It reminds me of all those 80's metal bands with those lame haircuts that are short in the front and long in the back.
