Listening now (wouldn't you like to know how :D But YES I will buy it as I've said!), there's still a disappointing lack of bass; I would say also that the guitars are a bit too thin for my tastes, but if the bass were more mighty that wouldn't be as much of a problem. Still, I really miss the production on "The Apostasy" :(

I'd say it sounds really really good overall, (especially the drums, damn they're huge) but then my cheap 2.1 setup isn't the reference for "bass-appreciating" : I tend to like thinner-sounding records on them (which in itself is not a terribly bad thing). :)

i think it sounds really fucking good
the kick snare and guitars are probably my favourite on a metal record in a long time

Meh, the guitars are good but a tad nasally at times, especially on the higher trem picked parts IMO :( And the kick is good, but I liked the one on "The Apostasy" better, it had more click without being as annoying as Demigod. Snare is good though, but I miss that deep "crock" of the one on "The Apostasy" - really, all I can say I genuinely LIKE about this mix (rather than tolerate) is the toms, and THEY are fucking mighty. Oh, and the vox too, I guess, but come on, it's Nergal, I'd expect no less :D

I'm just hoping at this point that the music is better than the mix. There's some pretty epic riffage here and there, just gotta look past it that's all. Keep telling myself at least it's a step up from The Apostasy, haha.
