Buffalo Grove. God I miss Buffalos. Best matzo ball soup ever.
I shop online. Best Buy and Circuit City are the only places around here to get cd's (I live in Buffalo Grove, the lake county side). With gas prices being so high, I really don't want to drive around all the time making trips to Impulse, etc. So it's easier to click a few buttons and buy a few discs online each month. Plus the prices are decent online for some albums too.
Sometimes I get lucky - I did find the Cavalera cd at Best Buy in April.
As for the Warrel Dane cd, I like it so far. I'm sure it will grow on me once I get some time for devoted listens. Haven't given it some hard listens, since it showed up today and I only listed to it at work, but it's awesome to hear Warrel in a different capacity than Nevermore. Most songs are 3:30 to 4 min long. The Sisters of Mercy cover rules.
Musically, it's much more simplistic with most of the songs co-written with Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork). So those are the riffs you're getting. Very catchy stuff!
Awesome - we always go there and get omlettes. It's a nice diner.
Thanks for pointing that out .. I sometimes forget about CM. I've had good luck with them in the past, so I just placed another order with them.I got the new Warrel Dane CD from Century Media for $10.
Christ... I haven't set foot in that place in years. Has to have been since I graduated high school. I think the last thing I ever did there was take down that monstrous root beer float in five minutes. You know, the one that's basically served in a vase. That was incredibly painful, but all my own damn fault anyway. Never bet the entire table you can do something in X minutes and then tack on an 'If I don't, I'll pay the tab.' Bad, bad decision...but I didn't have to pick up the check!

How is this?
Do you buy your CDs online or do you shop at a local store?
I tend to avoid online shopping. The other day I picked up the new Cavalera Conspiracy disc at Best Buy. Had a little trouble finding it there and almost walked out in disgust, but there it was - the only copy there - stashed away in the unmarked miscellaneous "C" section. I'm wondering if I go into BB for the Dane disc if I'll find it under "W" or "D" or somewhere else, if at all. I'm sure Mark probably has it at Metal Haven but I don't want go down there for one disc. Maybe this would be a good time to see if I can finally find the front door to Impulse. Hopefully they have it there, too.
Mr Q?
Dude! You live like 5 times closer to Impulse than I do!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess you don't realize how close and lucky you are to live so close to an actual metal store! Quit being so lazy! Yeah gas prices are bad but you live in Buffalo grove for god sakes!!! There is no excuse!
Actually we don't have Cavalera Conspiracy ...and I don't know why!!!!! I bought my copy at Rolling Stones, which by the way has its own section for the band. I highly recommend this release and will let Steve the owner know to order it.
