next katatonia album

I'd like a lot of the electronicstyle, could be mixed into a more heavyrocking style too. I'd be pleased to see most of the CHUGGACHUGG gone tho. Unfurl meets Last Fair Deal Gone Down...that'd be something.

The chuggachugg worked perfectly well for TGCD imo, I wouldn't want it entirely out of the next album.

I dont want it to be a mix of any previous albums and I dont want any electronic stuff or some massive attack oriented. I want some new and fresh it has been already: every album is different and its own.

We all want a lot of things it seems. Right now I want Katatonia to do a dark cowboy oriented album..like Woven Hand or 16 Horsepower (yes, I know the singer is a religious weirdo..but that just makes it more interesting). It seems I just love that stuff atm.

What the hell am I talking about? Well, something like this: Woven Hand

or [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIUg1K9Su0I&feature=related[/ame] Woven Hand

Or 16 Horsepower.

Katatonia would rule this kind of music...not quite sure how it would work though..heh.

My guess is its going to be a mix of dark electronic (Unfurl), Massive Attack style trip hop stuff (In the White remix), some stuff in the style of the other remixes (not heard them all, but the remixed Soil's Song sounded like a dance track! wickeddd).

This is exactly what I want to hear. And when I say that I want more songs like Unfurl and Code Against The Code, it's not to say I want an entire album of songs that sound exactly like this; I just really want them to push their own boundaries with electronic influences. I feel that if they keep going in a heavier, more metal direction, they'll reach a brick wall in terms of innovation and creativity - electronic really seems the best way to go if they want to expand their horizons. I really enjoy Massive Attack, so I'd definately like to see more stuff like the remixes (especially Krister Linder's rendition of Soil's Song). And speaking of Krister Linder, I'd love to see him do something with Katatonia in the future - possibly even mixing a song or two for the new album.

Edit: Some LFDGD influences and stuff like O How I Enjoy The Light couldn't hurt either.

I agree with ya. I want it to be something fresh and totally different from the past. Rehashing old ideas is so boring.

16HP is awesome

It would be all slow and quite and nice with a lot of atmosphere, but not much for dynamics.

Is that about right Stefan?

it really doesn't matter how it should be ...i only think that i want to see them live after so long :( i was never been lucky in all those years of faithfull listening *crying*

but they're coming every time to italy, man!
I'm from Rome, and i've seen them in 2003 (Rome, ghost of spring tour), 2006 (Treviso) , 2008 (Bologna)

The chances are always there!
