To anyone here who actually owns the album.... are there lead credits in the booklet with the lyrics? Does it say which solos are played by Eric, and which ones are played by Alex?
Yes, they do say who plays what solo where. All the lyrics are printed and it's a pretty nice booklet.
It figures, the one time I don't! lol I can't believe people in the US have gotten it already. Now I'm behind! I am going to the store as soon as it comes out here...they better have it!
The cdjapan site blows. They still don't even have a picture of the album. No info on bonus material. No info at all, except to say that it's only one disc.
I'm glad about that... it's a pet hate of mine when lead credits are not printed in album booklets where there are two lead guitarists. lol
Eric said in interviews that he plays around 50% of the leads on the new album, is that true?
First off, I bought the vinyl + shirt combo, so let's establish that.
After listening, I'm not quite sure what to think. Formation + Ritual is definitely a fitting description. It's definitely not a bad album by any means on first impression, but I'm not in love with it (yet). Definitely going to have to listen again, obviously. Off first impression, Day in the Death, Last Stand, and Throne of Thorns are my favorites.
Also all 3 covers are killer.
You're kidding me right? 36 seconds? What was the point indeed.
Here's some good news and a good burn lol

Just about yeah. Alex does the majority as usual, but Eric does quite a bit.
There isn't any information anywhere for the Japanese release, not even on the King Records own website, which is Testament's Japanese label (although they do have the album artwork). The new Steve Vai CD, which comes out a week later, has had the track listing for weeks PLUS the album artwork with exclusive info. But if the record label isn't even posting up current information on it then I'm at a complete loss. It's 11 days before it is officially released over there and they usually have this info by now.
I feel bad because I gave a recommendation for you to get it from there and it's taking forever for information to come out and now NB USA shipped out all preorders early, so I feel worse. Sorry bout that.
Hey,it's cool! I mean it's sure not your fault they dropped the ball.I'll just have to buy a copy Tuesday..if they have it.Bad for me,good for the band
It's 20 freakin 12! why isn't the release date the same for everyone! I can't believe it's different all over Europe.
Tracklisting is up. No cover tracks as bonus tracks, only bonus track is listed as "Practice What You Preach" which I'm guessing is a live track. If that's the case I might just cancel mine and buy the deluxe in the store.
Yep, I was shocked when I discovered earlier that the UK release date was the 30th. Why say the 27th was the European release date when that date didn't apply to all European countries? It's misleading the fans.
Hmm... could that be the re-recording of a "classic title track" that a few months ago someone said Alex mentioned?
