NIN vs TOOL.

Quite frankly, I love them both equally...they're both incredibly creative bands/artists in their own original way, but from a retrospective point of view, Nine Inch Nails seems to have accomplished so much more than Tool in a career-overview sense. But then again, Tool's music and lyrics really get to me on a personal level...ugh, I can't decide!

I really do not think that he's got half the talent as Tool, and why does he even get mentioned together with Tool all the time? Is there a connection I've missed?!?!

Tapeworm ...hahah.

(it's a project by Trent Reznor that Maynard is supposed to sing on....and it seems that it will NEVER be released hahah)

Tool is fucking awesome. One of my favs. I have to be in the mood for them. But when i am. Im treated to some of the most awesome sounds my ears have ever been subjugated to!. NIN. fucking suck balls

If you know me, then you know my opinion on NIN. They fucking ruined industrial music. NIN is pure pop rock garbage masquerading as something deep. Teenage angst wrapped up in a shiny, glossy package. NIN is to industrial what Linkin Park is to metal. Skinny Puppy shits on NIN in their worst moments (of which there were many). Listen to some :Wumpscut: and suck up on these nuts.

Asides from Sober and Hooker with a Penis Tool is a joke, NiN likewise is a punchline.

You seem like another face value wanker, i have no time for you if you cant appreciate the talent that both of theese bands have, i don't care if you don't like them, but don't go saying that they are "a joke" just because you don'tlike them.

*points at Username* NiN are Ok, most of the time, but Tool are.. Tool!

I like your thinking.

As for whoever it was above (sorry can't remember your name,) who was wondering why trent gets all the press he does, it might be because he writes everything that NIN do, and the others just play what he tells them to, some of NIN's stuff is pretty average, but a bit of it is good as well.

Nine Inch Nails, the depth of all of there albums is incredible. I wish I could find it, but there was an essay floating around online awhle back that explained The Downward Spiral in the most intricate detail. The essay was something like 15 pages along. Now how many billboard top 10 albums can have a 15 page essay made based upon the content of one of their albums?

Tool by a longshot. They are my second favorite band of all time, so I guess I'm a little biased. Either way I have never liked NIN. I find them to be completely boring and Trent Reznor seems to be one of the most pretentious people I have ever heard interviewed. NIN vs. Tool is like comparing Poison to Led Zeppelin...

I find both groups to be overrated. Everyone thinks they're both so SMART. When they're not.

Mostly, Tool is boring sludge, except for Parabola, which has a nice chorus, and Prison Sex, which is a great song no matter what.

NiN are supposed to be all tortured and emotional, but it comes off as angsty as pretentious, however, I do like Closer, March Of The Pigs, Wish, and Head Like A Hole, so...

I say NiN. But truthfully, I'm not really a fan of either.

To paraphrase Dr Johnson, "Nine Inch Nails are dull in a new way, and that makes people think them great".

Tool is one of my favorites. their's was the first concert i went to and it is still the most amazing as hell in my mind.
NIN are just not my kind of music so i can not really judge um. That and i have not listened to almost anything of theirs.
