I've always thought we're a pretty open-minded bunch on this forum. It's essentially a metal forum, but we listen to all sorts of stuff (we've even had Robbie Williams threads!). So, just for the hell of it, let's list the bands we listen to that aren't metal or even approaching it. The likes of Soundarden, Faith No More and Rollins Band, for example, don't count. They're too heavy....let's discount hard rock as well. I think we've done this kind of thread before, but things are quiet so I'm doing it again.

I'll start with some:

Hunters and Collectors
Midnight Oil
Ice T
Noiseworks
R.E.M.
Supergrass

I regularly listen to:

Bruce Springsteen
Sarah McLachlan
Johnny Cash
Dwight Yoakam
Journey
Styx
REO Speedwagon (even though I only have one CD)
Queen
Alison Krauss + Union Station

non metal stuff

John Farnham - Whispering Jack
Fields Of The Nephilim - Elzium
HIM - Dark Light
The Sisters Of Mercy - Greatest Hits

Hmm lets see -

The Bangles
Josh Groban
Billy Joel
Cara Dillon
John Farnham
Dave Matthews Band
Belinda Carlisle
Frente
Robbie Williams
Roxette
The Corrs

My god, i'm such a girly man.

As Spiffo said, The Boss. He's been my main one for a while (non-metal)

Then of course there'd Led Zep, The Cars, Queen, Nine Inch Nails, Sigur Ros, Wesley Willis, The Smashing Pumpkins...

there's quite a few more, but they're the main ones I guess.

counting crows
lots of different americana stuff...
acoustic pop stuff like Scott Andrew
Cyndi Lauper lately :)
The Clash
The Jam
Kaiser Chiefs
K T Tunstall
Madness

All manner of things.

That's a voice I haven't heard in ages. The Go Go's also have some pretty funky stuff too!

Belinda rocks! I recently bought her best of. Rockin stuff :headbang:

I regularly listen to:
80s pop/rock (too many bands to mention)

Aussie stuff like winmar ie, Noiseworks, Icehouse, midnight oil etc
U2
Old school rap ie NWA, Ice T, Ice Cube, public enemy
Top 40 stuff (at work and its good to know sing/dance to as well haha! Not all of it of course, but there are some cool songs around.)

some others to add to my list:
Antimatter
Belinda Carlisle
Jewel
Pat Benetar
Puff Daddy (not P Diddy or Diddy)
Roxette

Roxette, ah those were the days. I can't remember the song she did in the last few years, but it had this video clip with little duckies "singing". argh, horrid video cliip.

Foo Fighters
The John Butler Trio
The Cure
Electric Six
Queen
Cherry Poppin' Daddies
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
The Tea Party
Evermore
Primus
The Smashing Pumpkins
Vast
Stabbing Westward
Muse
Powderfinger
The Cat Empire
and much assorted 80s pop and rock.

That is about all I can think of at the moment. Belinda Carlisle does indeed rule, I have a best of. Mike Oldfield is rocking too. I was really getting into the score from Requiem For A Dream as well, that ruled. A lot of scores are great actually. I want to get some more video game ones, specifically Skies Of Arcadia and Symphony Of The Night.

^^

Get American McGee's Alice by Chris Vrenna. You won't regret it. I would put it in my top 5 albums OF ALL TIME. And I'm not just exaggerating.
