This was one of the first mangas that I bought. Now, I even own the new editions. From the trailer, it seems like they're not censoring nudes. I hope that they also don't cut the sex and violence in the show. Because that's a big part of what this work is about. This and Heavy Metal.

Komi Can't Communicate is OK. Reminds me of how many high school anime shows in particular centre around kids with moderate-to-severe mental disabilities though. It's always posited as just anime wackiness, but in reality a lot of these kids have fairly major problems.

Earlier I was working with headphones on and all of a sudden I was overcome by a huge sense of melancholy and sadness. Then I realised that 'Continued Story' from the Code Geass soundtrack was playing. That's the second time now that this song has caused a subconscious emotional reaction when I wasn't even really paying attention to what I was listening to. The ending to that story and the music attached to it must have had a significant impact on me at some level, as there is no other music that elicits an emotional reaction despite me not even paying attention to it.
Nice piece of music, regardless. Like all of the best anime series, Code Geass has an outstanding soundtrack.

The character design in Code Geass does take some getting used to. It didn't bother me after a few episodes, but there was an adjustment period. It's strange how pointy and thin most of the characters are!
Clannad/Clannad After Story is another anime in my absolute top tier, but also another where it took a while to get used to the character designs. The character's eyes are noticeably huge.
Vision of Escaflowne is another. Designs are fine except the huge noses... just why?

Code Geass character designs were done by CLAMP, who did stuff like Cardcaptor Sakura. They have a fairly recognisable drawing style - quite angular and sharp.
Key's character designs are mainly known for having huge eyes. Like, even larger than normal for anime. The eyes basically fill the face from the brow of the forehead down the bottom of the cheek. It's somewhat excessive. Eventually you get used to it.

I don't think Escaflowne debuted in the UK until 2007. I only watched it for the first time maybe a year and a half ago? In Japanese with subs obviously. I've never seen the original Escaflowne english dub but I've heard the series itself was heavily edited originally. Apparently it was originally dubbed by the Ocean cast (who did the original first 53 episodes of DBZ) then in 2016 FUNimation redubbed it with a new cast. Haven't seen either dub though so can't comment on whether they are good or bad.

Escaflowne has, in Spain, the same problems as the most of the anime dubs. They're shit because they are not taking it seriously so they third rate voices that, most of the times, not only don't match the original voice but also the character.

The problem with old American anime dubs wasn't so much the voices - Ocean cast, who did a lot of dubbed anime in the 90s/00s, were actually pretty good - but the heavy censorship, script changes and forced attempts at 'localisation' just ruined most shows of that era. Things are a lot better now, but there's no situaton where I'd watch a dub over a sub nowadays. Nothing to do with being elitist or anything like that, I just like how Japanese voices sound.
When talking about how anime is dubbed in Spain, the original is not only better but also the movies or shows are being mistreated in the dubs.
And yes, I always prefer the original. Not only for anime but also for any other tv show or movie. It's been a lot of time since I last saw something dubbed to spanish.

Last dubs I would have watched on purpose would be way back when I was a teenager, before I was able to get subbed anime. I was at the mercy of whatever TV stations were showing at the time, which would pretty much always be dubs. With that said fortunately the dubs for Outlaw Star, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop and Tenchi were pretty good, so it wasn't a huge problem. Bebop and Outlaw Star are probably two of the best dubbed anime shows ever.
I can remember fabsubs in the early 2000s taking some liberties, to say the least... translating stuff lke "kuso" as "fuck" 
but back then I usually only saw short clips online. I was on a 56k connection until 2003 or so, so downloading an entire series of any show wasn't exactly an option. Didn't even have YouTube then! Nowadays you can basically watch whatever you want, whenever you want. Times have changed.

The rest of them were and are still doing shitty translations,. many times taken from English translations. And by shitty I mean that they don't translate the sentences but the words in the same exact order that were said in Japanese or written in English or are made by people with the level of writing and comprehension of a 4 years old.
